The one-hour television series Jeremiah explores a future world populated ny people under 30 who, following a devastating, worldwide virus, had to grow up in a world without elders. Jeremiah, played by Like Perry (Oz, Beverly Hills 90210) and Kurdy, played by Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Cosby Show), are two of these young survivors. In Season 2, they are joined by the enigmatic Mister Smith, played by the great Sean Astin. : )
As Season 2 begins, Jeremiah is a prisoner at Valhalla Sector along with Thunder Mountain's leaders and his own fater. Kurdy is free but being hunted and still devastated by Elizabeth's death. Then he encounters Mister Smith, who say he has a message for him from God. Kurdy is nonplussed but reluctantly agrees to team up, at least until they can find and free Jeremiah. When Lee Chen suggests a desperate plan to free the captives, Kurdy and Mister Smith find themselves in the middle of a horrific struggle that sets the stage for many more to come. Order will be restored. The epic question is, by whom and in what fashion?
Kurdy (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) meets Mister Smith (Sean Astin) in the opening of the episode for Season 2 of Jeremiah, and is immediately confused. Smith says he has a message from God, delivers it, and then saves Kurdy's life.
Mister Smith joins the Thunder Mounain goup but he is an enigma to everyone there. He could be anything: a crackpot, a visionary, a spy or a genuine messenger from God to a godless world. What they learn about him over the course of the season's 15 episodes does little to settle the issue. Mister Smith ("First name Mister, last name Smith.") has an uncanny ability to predict future events. His comments are frequently cryptic but hold real meaning. He takes photographs of everything and everyone. He tells each peron he meets that he is from their hometown - and knows enough details to be convincing - but appears to have no past of his own. He is quiet, gentle, unassuming and a complete mystery.
The fertile imagination of J. Michael Straczynski has given birth to a character that even those working on the series cannot fathom.
MGM Television in association with showtime Networks produces Jeremiah. J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5), executive producer, created the series.
This will look better soon, so keep checking back!
