  • TV WATCH: LOTR BIOGRAPHY TO AIR FRIDAY!!! On Friday, January 23, the Biography Channel will feature it's "Biography Extra: The Lord of the Rings" at 1pm and 7pm (EST). This Bio Channel exclusive examines the films that make up the Trilogy (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, Return of the King). Cast and crew discuss their involvement, familiarity with autor J.R.R Tolkien, and their approach to their craft. Interviews include Peter Jackson, Elijah Wood, SEAN ASTIN, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, and Miranda Otto.
  • LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Life is a little unsettled for Sean Astin who plays hobbit straight arrow Samwise Gamgee or just plain Sam, in the "Lord of the Rings" movies.   • King Of Box Office. The final instalment in the Lord of the Rings trilogy set a new Australian opening day box office record yesterday, taking more than $5 million, the film's distbitors said today.

  • RotK Theatrical Version DVD/Video Tape Release Date.    RotK theatrical dvd will be out in the end of March. I'm assuming that if the dvd will be out, then the video tape will be too. Reports have ranged from 3/24 - 3/29/
  • Prince William made a surprise visit to a Norfolk cinema on Saturday to watch the latest Lord of the Rings film.
  • Selevted Australian cinemas will be subjecting patrons to a movie marathon on December 28 - one of the choices will be an LotR fest screening all three films in successions. However, Towers and Fellowship WILL NOT be the extended editions. This is a theatrical screening only.

  • RotK has Golden Globe Nominations for Best Picture- Drama, Best Director, Original Score, and Original Song!
  • The Fashion Institute in Los Angeles will exhibit actual RotK costumes this spring. Exhibits of LotR costumes the last two years have been spectacular, with no glass to prevent you from seeing all the magnigicent details.
  • Actuals are in. 'RotK' came in at $124.1 million domestic ($1 million less than the Sunday estimate) and $125.9 at 28 overseas a quarter if a billion dollars, breaking box office past the $2 billion mark.

  • "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" raked in $73.6 million in its first weekend and put up a five-day haul of $125.1 million since debuting Wednesday.

  • Chicago Tribune: ROTK is #1!! Mark writes: Both Chicago Tribune film critics (Michael Wilmington and Mark Caro) today published their list for the Top 10 movies of 2003. Both picked ROTK as the Best Film of 2003!
  • An editorial Cartoon featured in a recent edition of the Calgary Herald has Frodo and Sam meeting some unlikely folks on the way to Mordor. Take a look.
  • E! is showing their half-hour "Behind the Scenes: RotK" tonight (actually it'll be Dec 21) at 3:30 am EST., then repeat at 7:30am et Dec. 21, and again at 3:30am on Dec 22. As always, check local guides.
  • Trilogy Tuesday is coming December 23rd to Costa Rica at the San Pedro theater. For about $15 one can take in all three films, plus all you-can-eat hotdogs and all-you-can drink sodas. There are still tockets available, so check it out!

  • Seattle Film Critics: Astin, Lesnie are Year's Best The seattle Film Critics today chose Sean as the year's Best Supporting Actor, and Andrew Lesnie was recognized for Best Cinematography. The Return of the King was a runner-up for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. In addition, Christopher Lee was chosen to recieve the group's "Living Treasure" award.

  • If you've been on our site then you know that it looked a lot better then this before. We've had some problems, and we lost everything. We will be working really hard for the next little while to get all the stuff we had before back on here. We decided to put all the pictures and information back and then make the site look good, we figured that was more important. Please be patient and keep checking back.
