Clouds

 

The clouds sit peaceful in the sky

Without a care, just floating by

Like you and I, both young and free

We lived in perfect harmony

 

The sun shines on the morning dew

And everything looks clean and new

You tell me that we need our space

But you can't look me in the face

 

The sky grows black, the thunder rolls

The lightning strikes our very souls

I feel you slowly slip away

Further and further every day

 

The wind now howls some primal call

I know that soon the rain will fall

Just like the tears I cried for you

The day you said that we were through

 

The clouds are gone, the sky turns light

But in my heart it's always night
