The Society assists the needy in our neighbourhood with monetary and food aid. For example, free tuition for children
from poor families is offered, as is school fees, examination fees and money to buy school text books.
Some inmates of the Ling Kwang and Cheshire Homes in Serangoon Gardens are also assisted by us.
We alo pay for the ambulances to ferry some Catholic inmates from Cheshire Home to church every Sunday for mass.
Financial assistance is also given to the H.O.M.E. or the Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics.
Free medical treatment is also arranged for some families through the generous assistance of clinics within our parish.
We also visit various charitable homes and institutions throughout the year.
We help the occasional transient who come by the church seeking assistance.
The Society is affiliated to the Serangoon District Particular Council. This and other district councils are in turn
affiliated to the SSVP National Council of Singapore.
Singapore in under the Asia Group 2 grouping of the SSVP International with the headquarters in Paris, France.
Funds are raised by a 2nd collection at mass every 1st Sunday of the month.
Every year we have a Mass for the Sick and Aged around October.
