Inaugurated in 1992 to encourage a special devotion to the Eucharist. A special hour of adoration, reflection and prayer
before the Eucharist is organised each first
Thursday of the month. The Eucharist is the sacrament of Christ's divine love for
His Church.
Since 1995, the group has been praying with the help of a new
volume of scriptural reflections and prayers based on the theme, "Here I am Lord".
This reflects the group's aim of encouraging members of the community to deepen their faith and commitment to be open
to the will of God and to make themselves available to Him. The command of Christ to witness His love and saving grace to
everyone is very clear.
Mount Tabor, the adoration room, is an oasis of calm and quiet reflection amidst a world of hustle and bustle, and many
parishioners find the ambience of the room
with the presence of the tabernacle particulary conducive to prayer, meditation
and reflection. Holy Hour sessions are held monthly for the faithful.
The group is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the prayer room, as well as the organisation of the late night
Mass every first Friday of the month, when the host in the tabernacle is changed. In addition, members of the group also contribute
actively to other activities in the parish.
