By Stephanie Enarbia
“With or without PAASCU, we’ll strive for more to improve our education and aim for academic excellence."
Thus said Fr. Manny Uy, School Director, on Ateneo de Iloilo’s re-accreditation for five years, as granted by
the Philippine Accrediting Association for Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU).
Last May 6, PAASCU sent a fax message to the school, announcing AdI’s re-accreditation for 2005-2010.
“PAASCU recognizes the fact that we have been true to our school’s mission and vision, that we’ve
been trying to maintain and upgrade the quality and standard of the school,” Uy remarked.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the whole Ateneo de Iloilo community, for the hard work and
dedication during PAASCU and beyond PAASCU,” he also stressed.
To note, AdI first received accreditation for three years last 1996, and was given re-accreditation for five years
last 1999. Last November 18-19,
2004 was a re-survey
visit for the school’s application for Level II accreditation./ripples
