The AdI Bravehearts reigned supreme after having a clean sweep victory against Antique in a friendly basketball game
last May 7-8.
The friendship game, which is on its second year already, was put into action at the Binirayan Sports Complex Gym,
San Jose, Antique.
The Atenean team, composed of 40 Braveheart cagers, coached by John Trompeta and Jose Anselmo Tenorio, dominated in
all the games with the scores 53-44 in the 12 years below category; 52-48 in 14 years under; 56-49 in 17 years under class.
Elementary star dribblers, mark Louise Paclibar, Mark Jester Aposaga, Steven Ong, Richard Piodena catapulted the Bravehearts
to a nine point victory in the 12 years under level.
The Bravehearts emerged as winners after a neck in neck fight in the 14 years below game with the Atenean heavy artillery,
Patrick Lenaming, Paolo Griņo, Keith Wong, Philip Pador and John Anthony Valencia, empowering the team to a four point victory.
Emmanuel Monfort and Michael Tongol, AdI star cagers worked as gas and fire together with the other Bravehearts as
they heat up the court and led Ateneo to a blazing win, 56-49, in the 17 under level.
The friendship game with Antique will be done every summer and is part of the exposure program of the basketball summer
training.
Team Antique now had players that represent the entire province unlike last year’s group where dribblers were
chosen from two Antique schools only.
"The team of Antique is good but lacks some basketball basics," said Trompeta, Bravehearts’ coach, adding, "We
expect a tougher opponent as years go by."/Ripples
