Graphics
LIKE:
Unique and well done!
DISLIKE:
LCARS graphics are nice but they limit the viewing area and sometimes are down right annoying.

Content
LIKE:
Episode synopsis are fine. Pictures are great, but best done with thumbnails. A site that creates it's own content with a Star Trek feel are especially good.
DISLIKE:
Site with nothing but links except those sites that are design for that purpose. Also those with nothing but text.

Web Design
LIKE:
Sites that maintain a theme with graphics and content. Especially those that specialize in one area like a race or series.
DISLIKE:
Mismatch of graphics, theme and little content. I personally dislike frames because of the limitation on viewing.

Other Areas
LIKE:
Interactivity or surprising humor or sound. New and interesting effects.
DISLIKE:
Copied information from books or other sites.

"From Queen Arachnia"

When I am looking for good Trek Sites, I take several things into account.

The site should have a great layout, and be easy to navigate. It must be visually pleasing, with not too many graphics, but at the same time have enough to complement the content. The graphics should also look nice, without jagged edges. And should not take too long to load. The text should be easy to read on the background, and not be too bright.

Some things I DONT like when looking for great sites are:
Too many blinking banners, too many spinning commbadges or too many Vote for me here banners. One of each would be ok, but not 4 or 5. Pop up windows are annoying too. In my opinion, a good trek page would have very few of these things if at all.

"From Borg Webmaster"

A good website is a site, which draws a lot of visitors who come back time after time. The most important thing of a website is it's purpose, think it over. What do you want with it, why do other people want to visit the site. Make the website in one theme with a clear navigation and let me know on the first page what's inside.....

Be gentle with animated gif's, repeating trek themes and heavy loaded flash movies, you can use them if they add something to the site. Most of the time I don't even have my speakers on, and I keep asking myself; "why does the loading take so much time??",

ah another voyager theme midi of 2 MB!! You can use music, but think of the loading time it costs.
