The SBEC Technology Application Standards are grouped by area of specialization. Standards I through V are focused on skill sets expected of all beginning teachers. Standards VII through XI apply specifically to Technology Application certification for grades 8 through 12. Standard VI addresses computer programming, which is not a requirement for certification.

University and college programs offering certification eligibility in technology applications generally provide course coverage on a "per standard" or topic basis. Upon completion of all necessary courses, students are expected to have addressed each topical standard SBEC requires. A student portfolio is a standard means of illustrating proficiency and accomplishment with regard to all standards.

Below you will find links to pages detailing the 10 Technology Applications Standards required for Technology Application certification for grades 8 through 12, including my response and or demonstration of knowledge and proficiency in each given area. Note that the work completed for Standards 1 through 5 --required of all beginning teachers --is provided in Microsoft Word Document (.doc) format, which strays from the Web format provided for the remaining standards.

This site is a work in progress. All introductory pages are in place; however, some subset pages are under construction. For a precise view of the pages placed on this site, please consult developer notes section.
