Technology Applications Proficiencies by Joy E. McManus

Welcome to my Technology Applications Portfolio. My electronic portfolio is devoted to the Standards developed by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification to ensure teacher knowledge is sufficient to teach based on Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), which is a mandated public school curriculum throughout the state for Early Childhood Education through Grade 12. My portfolio serves as an illustration of these standards, as well as an application toward achieving teacher certification in technology applications.

This site addresses ten of eleven total standards set forth for teacher certification in Technology Applications, Grades 8 through 12. It is designed to illustrate my proficiencies in a variety of technology based processes, with an application specific to education. The site is divided into five main sections --the Home page you are currently viewing, an introduction to the SBEC Standards (inclusive of a sub-section addressing each standard in detail), a Samples section that features specific examples of progress working with technology, and a Developer Notes section that details my progress with respect to the development of this site. This site is a work in progress, specifically created and implemented to meet the project requirements for my ETEC 589 course at Texas A&M University - Commerce.
