What Hailey really enjoys. . .

Some of Hailey's favorite activities are ideas that come from a show on the Disney channel called 'Out of the Box'.  The show is based on acting out stories and 'make-believe' situations by creating props from common household articles.

Hailey loves to sit at her little table that Dad made her and do 'craft time' by coloring and putting stickers on her little creations while she watches 'Out of the Box'

Another Disney Channel favorite is 'Bear in the Big Blue House'.  She likes to act out some of the characters and always sings the songs.

'Bear' has been an old favorite.  Hailey started watching it and enjoying it almost a year ago (half of her life so far).

One of the characters, Luna, helps us learn and remember Spanish words.  Luna means moon in Spanish, so when we want to remember how words mean different things in different languages, we just talk about Luna.

Along with every other child on the planet, Barney is a very beloved show.  Hailey enjoys singing along with the songs the most and has started to learn her ABC's because of the songs they sing on Barney.

Barney was also the catalyst to helping Hailey learn her first color, purple.  For several months afterward, she would always call everything purple 'Barney Purple' as if that was the full name of the color purple.  So sometimes the flowers were Barney Purple.  Hailey doesn't say that now when she sees purple, but she will if you ask her what color Barney is.

Hailey LOVES Disney movies.  First it was Toy Story, then 101 Dalmations (cartoon version), then Snow White, but the long-standing favorite for the past few months has definitely been Beauty and the Beast.  Whenever Hailey watches it now and if Dad is home, she will demand to be danced with like the Beast does with Belle.  She knows the songs and can sing along and she always demands that we fast-forward through the 'scary' parts (when the wolves are chasing anyone).  The last scene is probably her favorite, though, when the beast turns into the Prince.  She just shrieks with joy and says 'Oh my goodness!'
