Now and Forever

"Come on Skyeeeeeee you gotta come. It'll be great, I promise!!! We're
just hanging out at my place. You never ever go out any more! I miss you."
Came a voice over the speakerphone.

"I dunno, I'm really busy..."

"That's Bull shit and you know it. Come on, It's been what? 4 years?"

"5."

"I don't expect you to be over it Hun but you have to go on with your life!
And besides, I want you to meet Alex. You two are my best friends for years
and years but have never met. Y'all would get along famously if you got off
your lazy butt and socialized."

"I gotta work! This company can't just run itself yunno."

"Ugh! Yes it can! That's why you have a secretary and employees and a
partner! Look at it this way if you have to, you could possibly get new
clients."

"I'll think about it, OK? Listen, I gotta go. I'll be there at 6 if I
can."

"Yeah yeah. Whatever. Call me tomorrow."

"Aiight. Bye."

She hung up the phone and leaned back into her desk chair.

'5 years and I still can't go a minute with out thinking about you.'

She stood up and walked slowly to the closet across the spacious office and
opened it to get her coat. As the door opened, she found her reflection
staring back at her from the full-length mirror inside the door. At 5'3,
she was shorter than the average person was but definitely thinner. She had
mid-length light brown hair with natural blonde streaks, that was at the
moment pulled up in a tight bun, and usually vibrant sky blue eyes, that
were now dull and life less. She sighed, grabbed her black trench coat and
slammed the door shut. As she walked out of the office, she pulled on her
coat and grabbed her laptop.

"Good night Rebecca." She called over her shoulder to her partner.

"Night Skye! Go out! Have fun!"

She rolled her eyes and left the building, unlocking the driver's side on
her green 98 Jetta and getting in. She put it into drive and sped out of
the parking lot onto the main highway.

"I will never find another lover sweeter than you, sweeter than you. And I
will never find another lover more precious than you, more precious than
you. Girl you are close to me you're like my mother, close to me you're
like my father..."

"Ugh! This is so old, why do they hafta play it?" Skye yelled, changing
the station.

"And I swear, by the moon and the stars above..."

"Dammit! Friggen ghetto radio! What is this, oldies week? Why can't the
tape work?" She muttered, changing the station again.

"Dime porque lloras, de felicidad..."

Skye pulled over to the side of the road and stared at the radio.

"What the... I've never heard this on the radio."

She listened to the whole song and thought.

"No, it can't be. Or can it? Are you trying to tell me something?" She
asked, looking up at the sky. "What? What do you want? Three of our songs
on the radio, one of which was never released, in a row. What?"
