Now and Forever
::: Chapter 5 :::

Alex's POB

He hung up the phone on the nightstand and rolled over. He came face to
sleeping face with one of the most stunning women he had ever met. As he
lay there thinking, a familiar feeling of guilt washed over him.

'Dammit, I always do this. I always tell myself just once more then I'll
stop but she's just so fucking unbelievable!'

The sleeping form was definitely not the woman he loved. Lusted for maybe.
Her name was Rachel. The two had met about 6 months ago while Adina was
back home, visiting family. She was about 5'6 and had blonde-ish red-ish
layered hair that fell just below her shoulders. But her eyes were what got
him the most. He could remember the first time he saw those striking green
eyes across the club as if it were yesterday. He was hooked from that
moment. The girl definitely knew how to move, on the dance floor as well as
in bed. She was a professional dancer. Alex knew that what he was doing
was dangerous but she always had a way of getting to him. She knew about
Adina but was convinced that she and Alex were meant to be together in the
end. He sighed as he looked at the clock.

"Rach?" He whispered, shaking her slightly.

She moaned and laid her head on his chest.

"Sweetie I got to get up. I'm going out in an hour."

There was no response. He looked down at her and smiled. This was the kind
of girl he would have loved to be friends with but they had ruined that
totally. He admired her. She knew what she wanted and how to get it; he
was an example of that. Picking her up slightly, he slid out of bed and
walked into the bathroom to take a shower. As he stepped into it, both
heads shooting hot water in his direction, he heard her step in and shut the
door. He turned his back to the shower door and ignored her coming in. She
slowly wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his back.

"That was incredible, as always." She said, kissing his dragon tattoo.

He groaned and took her hands, which were working their way down.

"Rach…"

"Yeah baby?" She asked, nipping at his neck.

"Rach, we can't do this anymore." He whispered, cursing at himself for
letting her have this kind of effect on him.

"Why not?"

He turned around to face her. She was pouting but he saw the hunger in her
eyes.

"You know why."

She rolled her eyes and trailed a finger down his stomach.

"Then why do you let me?"

He leaned his head back against the wall.

"Because Adina…"

She smiled and leaned against him.

"She'll never know. Now we have an hour. Lets make use of it."

At Zen's house, an hour later

"Zen, maybe he doesn't want to come. Maybe he's busy."

Skye was sitting on the couch, playing with the end of her hoodie
sweatshirt.

"Skye, he's coming. I gave him an hour to finish up his 'business'.
Believe me, it doesn't take him that long." Zen said, raising her eyebrows.

"Ugh, too much info thanx." Skye whined, covering her ears.

Zen laughed as the doorbell rung.

"What'd I tell ya?" She called over her shoulder.

Skye gave her the finger and Zen opened the door.

"Hey babes, come on in." She said, kissing his cheek.

Skye looked up from her lap, meeting Alex's brown eyes immediately. He
smiled at her and she returned it shyly.

"Nice to see you again Skye." He said, sitting next to her.

"Same here Alex."

"Ugh, Alex. You got her calling me that too Cammy?" Alex said, giving Zen a
face.

Zen smirked.

"Well, I dunno. That's what I call you. I'll intro you 2 properly and you
can come up w/ nicks on your own. Alexander James Mclean, this is Skye
Arianna Hurley."

Alex smiled and studied Skye.

"What?" She asked.

"Skye's really pretty, but what if I call ya Ari?"

"Sure whatever. What about Xander for you?"

"Deal." Alex said, sticking his hand out to her.

She took it gently and he raised her hand up to his lips, kissing it softly.
As this all was happening, Zen was watching intently.

"Well, I'm gonna go get drinks. Get to know one another." She said, going
into the kitchen.

He let go of her hand and she placed it back in her pocket.

"So wuzzup?" He asked, leaning back.

She shrugged and looked back down. She could feel him staring at her,
waiting for her to say something.

"Nothing much."

'Niiiiice Skye.' Zen thought, rolling her eyes as she looked in on them
through the connecting door.

"What do you do?" He asked.

"I own my own photography company, along with my friend Rebecca. We do stuff
for magazines, celebs, television, etc."

"That's cool. Who famous have you taken pics of?"

"Um, The cast of Buffy/Angel, Ryan Phillipe, Freddie Prinze Jr., Carson
Daly, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias, Eminem, Nelly, Creed,
Chili Peppers" She listed.

"Dayum. Sounds like fun." Alex said.

"It is I guess." She said. "I know I don't have to ask what you do but
what's up with you guys lately?"

Their conversation stemmed on from there, talking about the Backstreet Boys,
music, photography, basically anything that interested them. They didn't
even notice that Zen hadn't come back into the living room. She went into
her office and was on the computer, happy that they were getting along so
well. Skye was hesitant at first to talk to him but it just came naturally.
She felt as if she had known him for years, not 5 hours. As for Alex, he
liked her a lot. She was quiet at first but that made him want to talk to
her and get to know her even more. He loved the mystery surrounding her.
Most girls he met wanted him for one thing and in order to convey that,
threw themselves all over him.
