Chapter 17
"Well..." she took a deep breath and closed her eyes."I'm six weeks pregnant." She qucikly turned head. Not wanting to look into his eyes.
"W-what? Pregnant?..H-how long have you known this?"
"Three weeks ago." she said.
"THREE WEEKS AGO!?" he raised his voice. "You've known that you were pregnant for three fucking weeks and you didn't think it was important enough to tell me this?"
"Baby, I didn't know how to tell you...I mean i didn't know how you would react."
"React? It doesn't matter. It's still my child. I can't believe that you wouldn't tell me that." Pe could see the hurt in eyes and it made her feel worse.
"Baby I'm sorry...I mean i just didn't...I mean...I'm sorry." She said, and she was. She wished she would have told him sooner, but how could she, it was hard for her to tell him now.
"If i wasn't here to see this," he said pointing at the equipment the doctor had just brough in. "Where you even going to tell me? Or were you going to wait to the baby was born?" He was pissed because she kept something that important away from him.
"Honestly Johnny I don't know..."
"What do you mean you DON"T KNOW!" Johnny shouted has he got out of the bed.
"I DON'T KNOW!" she said on the brake of tears. "Johnny I said i was sorry....Where are you going?" she asked as he started walking towards the door. At that point the doctor was walking in. "What do you want me to do? Huh Johnny?"
He turned to look back at her, he was getting ready to walk out of the room, He needed sometime to think. The doctor had satred to spread the gel on her belly. He was walking out of the door when he heard the heartbeat of the baby, THEIR BABY. He looked from the monotor where a picture of the baby's head was, back to Petress whom had tears slowly sliding down her face. He walked back over towards the bed and whapped the tear from her eyes and put her hand in his, as they wacth and listen to the doctor explain to them what was going on.
"Hey doc? Can you tell if it's a boy or a girl?"
"Not yet it's too soon...wait a few more months." The doctor said back with a smile.
"We're just going to wait until the baby's born." Pe added in, smiling up at Johnny.
"Yeah, that's always the best idea... Ok we're all done here. Would you like a picture of your baby?" the doctor asked.
"Yes, two please?" Pe asked.
"Sure, And Miss Bennett, you can go home as soon as i bring those back to you... The doctor said that you were doing fine and would be ok, the baby's health. So your free to go." She smiled leaving the room. While the Doctor went to get there picture, and her discharge papers. Johnny helped Pe get dressed to go home. After the doctor came back and they took care of all the paperwork, they headed home.
It' was About six in the afternoon, Johnny would be leaving in the next thrithy minutes. They were both getting his things ready, Though Petress didn't want him to go she knew he had to. Johnny didn't want to go either, but he know he had to. They were both silent for awhile.
"Baby i can't do this." Johnny said dropping the shirt he held in his hands on the bed. "I don't want to leave you like this."
"Johnny, you have to, you know that." she said walking over to were he was stand ing and wrapped her hands around his waist so that she was standing in front of him.. "This is your dream. And i'm not going to let you give it up, for ANYTHING"
"Yeah, I know... but I want to be here with you , for you... I could put it off until later..."
"NO! I'm not going to let you. Your going back and your going to finish your ablum... become some big time celebrity and a woounderful father, all at the same time. " she smiled. "Besides i'm barely a month along, and didn't you say the alnum was almost finished., why would you want to stop now?" Johnny sighed he know she was right.
"I don't know...I mean i just want to be here through -out the pregnancy." He looked really confused , an petress could tell that he wanted to be ther, but they both knew he had a dream that he REALLY wanted to fifill. They countuied to talk iunti l they work out a compromise. Johnny was going to go back to England and finisf up his album, but on he's time off, or whenever he could he was going to fly back to Orlando. A few minutes afterwards, when they had all his stuff packed and ready to go, Petress drove him to the airport and stayed until the plane left.
The months seemed to fly bye, and Petress seemed to grow more and more, to her she was 'as big as a a damn whale!', though everyone else saw differently. And as agreeed on Johnny would come back when h could, which was once a week every month, The guys (BSB) had even started work, writing plainniing for their new album, Toy's Birthday was right around the corner. Her and AJ's realationship has been going extermly well. Everything was going right for once in everyone's life. Howie and his girlfriend Heather were getting very close, Nick and his girlfriend. It was Pe's last month, she would be going into labor any mintue or day now, and just incase she did Toy was staying with her, until Johnny came back anyways. It was Friday night, all most three weeks since Pe last heard from Johnny, and was starting to get worried. She would have called him, but felt it was too late and any other time she did he was never around, or his cell was off. Petress laid on the couch and watched TV, has she thought about him.
"Don't worry Pe, he'll call you." Toy said walking out of the kitchen and seeing how depressed her friend looked.
"I think he's cheatinf on me... I think he found some one else who's prettier, skinny and NOT pregnant."
"Don't say that... YOu know Johnny loves you, he would never do that to you." tooy laughed alittle, "Besides who's he going to find pretter then you... besides me? ... and i don't want him."
"Whatever!" Petress laughed.
"You know it's true."
"Only in your dreams." Pe laughed.
"You don't want to know about my dreams."
"Right I don't. Cause you and AJ are some freaks, and i don't even want to imagen you too in subconusions." THey both laughed.
"Whatever, I'm going to head to bed. Let me know if you need anything k?"
"OK. Night." Petress said has toy walked upstairs. Petress watched TV for another hour or so before she decided to go to bed too. Her phone rung just as she was turning her TV off.
"Who in the hell would be calling her at 12 o'clock in the Fucking morning." Petress said out loud to herself.
She then figured it was Aj calling for Toy. "Hello?" she said kinda depressed.
"Babygirl? What's wrong?"
"Johnny?" pe question when she heard the voice on the other end of the phone.
"The one and only. So how's my lady doing?"
"Your lady? Know who might that be now?" Petress asked pissed that he hadn't called in three weeks, and tonight at 12 in the morning he decides to call.
"What? You!... Sweetheart, what was that suppose to mean?" Johnny asked confused as to why she would ask that question. "You i would never cheat on you."
"Yeah well it's kinda of heard to believe that when i haven't heard from you in over three weeks."
"I'm sorry, baby. I've been busy, that's all. Tring to get all this stuff finished so i can get homee to you as soon as possible. I'm sorry... please forgive me." Pe sighed she knew she couldn't stay mad at him, she loved him too much. SHe missed him, and was glad to her from him.
"It's ok baby, i was just worried that's all... i didn't know what to think. How are you?'
"I've missed you too babygirl, and i'm ok, now that i'm talking to you anyways." he made he smile and he could tell, he knew her that well. "So how are you doing."
"Ok, i feel like i'm going to explode any minute now." shelaughed.
"I can't wait until the baby is born. I just hope i make there in time to witness it myself."
"Yeah me too. I don't want to have this baby without you."
"Well i'm sure i will... Actually..Hold on a sec." Johnny said putting the phone down. Pe waited about a good minute or soo before the phone hung up.
"Hello?...Hello?" she got no answer . She even tried to call back, but still got nothing. She finially gave up and was headed upstairs. She laid her head on her pillow and dreamed of her and JOhnny and teir baby all being together, when she heard someone walking in her room. She thought it was Toy, but when she turned around she nearly cried. There Johnny was standing at her bedside looking down at her with a rose in one hand and the other behind his back.
"My i join you?" he asked as he slide into the bed next to her. "I've missed you , both of you" he said rubbing his hand over her belly. she smiled and gently kissed his lips.
Smiling, "We've missed you too." they kissed once more. They talked for another hour and a half before Petress fill asleep in Johnny's arms.
They next day Pe woke up to the sound of Johnny in the shower and Toy walking around talking to AJ on the Phone. It was about 1:00 in the afternoon. She couldn't believe they let her sleep that late. She smiled when she saw Johnny walk out of the bathroom with the towel wrapped around his waste, and little beads of water rolling off his down his body.
"Good after noon sweetheart." he said as he walked over and kissed Pe on the fore head.
"Same to you. Why did yall let me sleep this late?"
"Actaully i just woke up myself about an hour ago... I laid there for awhile and watched you sleep, you looked so peaceful... I didn't want to wake you." he kissed her forehead again, before he went back in the restroom to get dressed. Petress followed behind him, to brush her teeth "I made you a bath. It's nice and warm." He smiled as he wrapped his hands around her waste and kissed her cheek. She had just finished. He lead her to the bathroom where he left her to bathe, then went downstairs to get her something to eat. Toy was setting on the couch watching TV.
"Hey, Vicki." he said as he walked in to the kicthen. "Whatcha watching?"
"Hey, Johnny." she said turning the TV off. "Nothing, there's nothing on. I saw a few shows with you guys on it. ... So what are you up to?"
?Getting your friend something to eat... I really want to do something for her,
but i don't know what."
"I think you're doing eough just by being here."
"Yeah, but i mean she's caring my baby...OUR baby. I mean and with what you told me lastnight about how she felt when i didn't call her." Johnny sighed when he thought about it. He didn't understand why she would feel that why, He's never giving her a reason to think he wanted another. He LOVED her, he loved their baby, he actuall loved her more because she was haveing his baby, and to him no one else came close, can even compare to her. "I don't want her to feel that way, i want her to know that i love her, no matter what."
"Yeah, and she knows that. She only feels that way because she's pregnant." She sorta changed the subject. "So do you know if it's a boy or girl?"
"No, we won't find out until the baby's born." he said just as Petress was walking down the stairs.
"Glad to see you up." Toy said chuckling. Petress just stuck her tongue out at her. "Save that for Johnny."
"Yeah, I want some of that." he smiled as she walked around into the kitchen. She wrapped her arms around him and they kissed passoniatley. After they part they ate and went into the living room.
"Hey Pe, Aj, the rest of the guys and their girlfriends are coming over." Toy said as they watched Charlie's ANgels.
"Really what time?" she asked as she laid her head on Johnny's lap.
"Hmmm.. I htnk AJ told me around 3, 3:30."
"Ok. That's cool." she said they started to watch the movie and she fell asleep.
It was three and all the guys and there girlfriends were there, Pe. was still sleep. They were all setting around talking.
"Johnny have you and Pe decided on a name yet?" Leighanne asked while brain ran his fingers through her hair.
"Well, If it's a boy, we decided on either Jaleen or Jaden, or after me...If it's a girl either Kailie, Makayla, Hayle, or Alyssa. We're not sure yet."
"don't you thenk you need to hurry up?" Toy joked.
"Whatever, Don't you think you and Aj should be worried about plainning your wedding?"
"Ha!...Well, if you really want to know. We have set a date." She said matter of factly.
"OMG...It took long enough," Kevin said they all laughed. "So when is it? Are you going to tell us?"
"Or are we going to have to wait until the day of the wedding?" Kristen laughed.
"May 20, 2002." Aj said. "But what i really would like to know is, When are Johnny and Pe, going to get married.... I mean they've been together long then Me and Toy."
"Don't worry about me, until you are on the plane for your honeymoon." Johnny said. Ever on laughed. before he Shhhed them, when he felt Pe move abit.
"So what are you going to do after the baby's born?" Howie asked Johnny. Who looked over at Aj.
"Hmmm, i'm not sire yet. I really don't want my child to grow up with me going from one Country to another. I don't want to miss out on anything in my child life nor my girl." he said move Petress hair out of her face then ran it over her bely, just as the baby was kicking. "OMG... Yall have to feel this. The baby's kicking." He said excited. Everyone ran over and put there hand on her belly, so they could feel the baby. Pe woke up almost admediatly. Shocked to see all the faces around her with there hands all over her body.
"Oh great, yall are the ones who did it." she said
"Did what hun?" johnny asked as everyone backed off.
"Broke my water." She said witha smile. It took everyone about a minute to catch on to what she was saying. Petress laughed when she seen the expressions on their faces when they did.
"Do you think i can get to a hospital, before i have the baby?" she said jokingly.
"Oh, yeah. Come on." Johnny said helping her up. Her bags were all ready, and in the cloest by the front door, just in case she went into labor during the night, they could grab it on their way out. Johnny took her to the hospital, AJ and Toy rode with them. Toy called the hospital to let them know Pe was on her way. As they drove Johnny held her hand tightly. They both smiled. When they got there the nurse and doctor meet them in the middle of the hall way with a wheelchair and rushed her to the delivery room it was 5 o'clock Friday, April the 28. She was in the delivery room for a good 13 hours, before Johnny came out to the waiting room, were the only too people who remained were AJ, Toy, Brian and Leighanne. They all jumped to there feet when he approched them, and stated throwing questions left and right.
"What is it?" Toy asked.
"Is she OK?" Leighanne asked.
"Is the baby OK?" Brain asked.
"Can we see them?" Aj asked. Johnny laughed.
"Claim down... It's a girl, Makayla Alyssa, 7lbs 8oz, 16 1/2 inches long, she's beautiul. " They all smiled when they saw the glow in his eyes and face. " Both Petress and The baby are doing just fine, and yall can see them in a little bit, the have to put her in the room and get the baby cleaned up and everything... I'm going to go back in the room with Petress and when i find out what room she's in I'll let you guys know. Hey can one of you call her parents and the rest of the guys and let them know...please?... Oh Yeah Victoria, Pe told me to tell you Happy Birthday." he said witha smile has he walked away from them. Toy smiled when she realized that her bestfriend had given birth to a little girl who was her Godchild, on her birthday.
They all went to vist her and the baby, all the guys had came up there and Petress Family to see there grand child and niece. It was almost noon and everyone still hadn't got that much sleep, so went back home to sleep. Johnny and Pe were too excited to sleep. They had a beautiful baby girl and they were happy. Johnny smiled as he watched his girlfriend and holding his daughter, and he realized that he didn't want his daughter to grow up with her father only being there one week every month, if that even. Petress noticed the look on his face and wondered what was borthering him.
"Baby, What's wrong?" she asked as she laid the baby down on her chest.
"Ummm..nothing baby....I-I'm just so happy, overwhelemed... t-that's all." he lied, and she knew it.
"Johnny, Don't lie to me." she said her mood changing a little. "Tell me what's wrong... Do you not want us ..." she was cutt off.
"Don't think like that. You know i love you and OUR baby more then anything. Which is what i need to talk to you about."
"I'm listening." she said moving the baby, and laying her the crib they brought her in the room in.
"Well I was thinking. About you and the baby, and how i wasn't going to be here in the next week, with you and the baby, all the time, because of my career."
"Yeah but Johnny we've talked about it."
"yeah we did, and it was OK when you were pregnant, though i hated it then too, but we have a baby NOW and i want to be there through-out her whole life, the whole time, not just one week out of a month. I don't want to miss out on all the littlie and MAJOR things in her life. You and Makayla mean the world to me, and nothing in this world world is more impotant to me. When i put that ring on your finger almost a year ago. I I not on;y promised to make you my fiencee oneday, but to ALWAYS be there with you, through anything no matter what, and I promised never to put ANYTHING before you."
"I know baby. B-But what are you tring to say?"
"What i'm saying is, that if i go back and England to work on my career, theni broke that promise. And that's something i won't do. I'm not puting my career before my life, and you and Kayla are just that, my life." Petressed smiled he always made her happy, and to her him say that made her extremly happy, but shee still felt bad.
"But what about your career?"
"Well, i talked to AJ and he told me the number of the people who built his studio, and his house., He got the guy to geive me a graet deal on both." he said, Petress couldn't believe what she just heard. "I'm going to work on my music here. My record label and Jive made a deal, so i'm going to switch over to Jive and release my album through them. They all so told me I could wait a year before i tour, that way if you want you and Makayla can come along."
"W-what? When did you?"she said talking about the house.
"Well I was going to save it until after you and Makayla got out of the hospital. It was going to be like my welcome home gift to the two of you.... I's not quite finished yet, though. It'll be done around December or Janurary."
"Oh baby. You are the best." she said kissing him passonatly. "I'm so glad that you're going to be her with us." they kissed once more, looked at THEIR little girl, then cuddled up close together and feel asleep in each others arms.
