“Staci, we have to go to meet the new opening act. Call me back,”
Kevin's voice came through her answering machine. They had met at the
Versace show Kevin had modeled at, and ever since that point they had been
best friends.
She picked up the phone smiling and dialed his cell phone number.
“Stace, meet me at the house.”
“What do I wear?”
“Jeans.”
“I'm on my way.” She was always at the meetings because Kevin felt
alone with Brian having Cynthia, A.J having Victoria, and everyone else having
their random dates. He hadn't been dating anyone steady for a while, and
sometimes she thought that he felt something for her.
Somer walked up to the huge mansion, adjusting her sundress before
ringing the doorbell. A butler opened it for her, and led her through the
house to the back patio, where all the guys were sitting, waiting for her.
She took a deep breath and stepped onto the wood, her feet barely keeping her
steady. She'd waited her entire life for this, why would she want to turn
and run now? And yet that's what she found herself wanting to do.
“Hey, she's here,” A.J said, getting up out of his chair to greet her.
She shook his hand and said, “I'm Somer Thompson.”
“A.J McLean,” he answered, looking her over.
She looked at the ground bashfully, then shook hands with the rest of the
group. Kevin was astounded with the gorgeous woman standing in front of him.
She had worn her hair down, and it softly fell down her back, thick and
full. The emerald green of her dress set off the flames in her mane and also
her dark tan. He never wanted to let her go once he touched her hand.
“Do you want a drink?” Brian offered.
“Just a Dew, please,” she sat in a chair.
Late that night they were saying their good-byes. She had had the time
of her life; it was going to be a blast touring with them. She was ecstatic
they had hit it off well. Her fear was that her first tour would be hell,
but that was banished from her mind.
“So how was it?” Beth asked as Somer walked into the apartment.
“It went great, perfectly. The tour's gonna be awesome.”
“Cool. So when do we leave?”
“Two days.”
“I can't wait.”
Two days came too quickly and before she knew it Beth and herself were
trying to make the bus
into home. Kevin walked on with the rest of the guys, remembering her face,
the face he had dreamed
about; he had actually dreamed about this woman.
“Oh hey guys. What be up?” She said goofily, so excited to be on the
tour she could barely
contain herself.
“Nothing. Are you gonna stay on this bus for the entire time?” Brian
answered.
“No. Not if you want me on yours.”
“We do,” A.J. answered.
“Okay, cool,” she started to get off the bus, Beth following.
“We don't need you there,” Brian directed at her.
Somer turned to him, then looked back at her best friend in the whole
world, “Brian, quit being
an asshole,” then walked over to the guys' bus, pulling Beth along with her.
A.J. snickered at Brian, then followed them onto the bus. “I don't know
who the hell she thinks
she is,” he mumbled, going into to her bus. He just couldn't be in the same
room with her at that
moment.

“So, Somer, what are your plans for the show?” Kevin asked her as they
walked up to the hall
they were performing at.
“Well, you'll just have to wait and see. I added some of my own
choreography. Fatima's good
and everything, I just needed my own flair, you know what I mean?” She smiled
up at him, then opened
the door and walked in. He watched her walk, amazed by her body. She was
perfectly toned, and petite,
only standing 5'4”. Her medium length red hair was pulled into a ponytail,
and her yellow skeets and
black sports bra made her look like a teenager going to cheerleading
practice, not a professional singer
and dancer.
All of the guys watched as she practiced, making every move perfect.
“Damn, girl, you're better than I thought,” Victoria shouted above the
music, keeping the steps
going.
“Thanks Toy!” She easily went into the backflip she had added to the
routine.
A.J. watched as his girlfriend made every step of the routine come
together. She was his
soul-mate; he would never doubt it. He never had. The moment they'd met he
had known she would
have his children.
Toy stuck her tongue out at him, then laughed as she continued to dance.
Somer was starting to
sing, filling the hall with a beat and song that was TRL worthy. It was the
first single she had released,
and a good dancing song.
“Get out of here, guys, you can see it later!” She said in a break of
the song.
They obeyed her, going back to their dressing rooms to get their costumes
arranged.
