§ 160.261, RSMo Discipline- 3. The policy shall provide for a suspension for a period of not less than one year, or expulsion,
for a student who is determined to have brought a weapon to school, including but not limited to, the school playground or
the school parking lot, brought a weapon on a school bus or brought a weapon to a school activity whether on or off of the
school property in violation of district policy, except that: The superintendent, or in a school district with no high
school, the principal of the school which such child attends may modify such suspension on a case-by-case basis; and This
section shall not prevent the school district from providing educational services in an alternative setting to a student suspended
under the provisions of this section.
§ 304.050, RSMo School buses, drivers to stop for, when-signs required on buses-bus driver responsibilities-driver identity
rebuttable presumption, when.- 1. The driver of a vehicle upon a highway upon meeting or overtaking from either direction
any school bus which has stopped on the highway for the purpose of receiving or discharging any school children and whose
driver has in the manner prescribed by law given the signal to stop, shall stop the vehicle before reaching such school bus
and shall not proceed until such school bus resumes motion, or until signaled by its driver to proceed.
CHAPTER 569 569.155, RSMo Trespass of a school bus.- 1. A person commits the crime of trespass of a school bus if
he knowingly and unlawfully enters any part of or unlawfully operates any school bus. 2. Trespass of a school bus is a
class A misdemeanor. 3. For the purposes of this section, the terms "unlawfully enters" and "unlawfully
operates" refer to any entry or operation of a school bus which is not: (1) Approved of and established in a school
districts written policy on access to school buses; or (2) Authorized by specific written approval of the school board.
4. In order to preserve the public order, any district which adopts the policies described in subsection 3 of this
section shall establish and enforce a student behavior policy for students on school buses.
