This page is devoted to the most awesome person in my life!! Yes, yes, although it may be hard to believe, Marissa
is not my only inspiration in life. *Gasp* So here she is guys...My Angel Swami!

Mrs.V: "Remember-- I never said you were obsessed. If I understand our friendship and you understand our friendship
then to hell with everyone else." Sometimes you think things yourself, but don't really pay attention to the thoughts.
Then someone else says the same thing to you and it can make a world of difference. So there ya'll...do with it what
you may!
Sometimes I'm amazed at the things that she teaches me by just being herself. Truely amazing.
The three most amazing women all in one picture! |

Mrs. Cavil, Mrs.VandeWalle, Me, and Michelle. I love this picture. Click to enlarge it. |
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Mrs.VandeWalle was my teacher when I was in 6th grade. I was very lucky because I had her for A/A (Homeroom),
Guided Study, and Language Arts. Oh, and I’m past that whole suck up thing, so have faith that all I say is true. Over
the past four years I have discovered that she’s actually a normal person, unlike what you think of teachers to be...but
*shhh* because that is a huge secret! She has standards to live up to you know! Not only is she a great teacher, she
is an awesome all around person. Although she is no longer a teenager, Mrs.VandeWalle seems to have quite a good grasp on
the inner workings of the teenage mind. This is quite helpful when I’m having one of those routine breakdowns that happen
during the teen years. She will never judge what I say, or treat me differently because of something that happens. Trust me
with this one, I have told her some pretty crazy things, and she hasn’t held it against me yet.
When I was in 7th grade she moved about 2 hours away (according to Map quest). Talk about devastated. I’ll
tell you, that sucked! In 6th grade a whole bunch of people thought I was “obsessed” with Mrs.VandeWalle. That
was rough to deal with too, because I started telling myself that it was true. I realize now that I wasn’t, and it wasn’t
true. People are just stupid...yup that’s it! She was really sweet about it all too, she told me before I could have
heard any rumors about it at school, and told me that I could e-mail her anytime--and not to worry, I definitely took her
up on that. Anywho, you won’t believe this. Sometimes she’d come back to school and visit, and every time
she came, I was home sick!! So I didn’t get to see her again until early March. I had won tickets a radio station to
see Miss Saigon.
MISS SAIGON
You should have seen me when I won those tickets. I was so excited and bouncing off of walls. However, I still
had to ask her if she would go. I do not do so hot on the phone with her...I tend to babble and choke on my words. I’m
working on it though! I called her and told her that I won these tickets from the radio station because I wrote about “Who
is your hero and why” and I wrote about her for various reasons. Thankfully, she said yes. I was so entirely excited!
When that day finally came, I still had to go to school. That had to be the longest day EVER! I was incredibly nervous. She
told me that was fine, just as long as I didn’t start drooling when I saw her. *Cruel* So she drove the two hours (which
I would be willing to bet did not take that long with the way she drives...haha j/k!) and we went out to eat at the Olive
Garden, then to the show. To prove my dork-i-ness, I still have my mint wrapper from the Olive Garden :-) I still remember
every single thing that happened that day. Every word that was said, and everything. It was a very special day for me. However,
that was the only time I saw her between the time she left and when she moved back here. For those of you wondering, the show
was amazing. My favorite parts with the effects was the helicopter, however, I was a bit saddened that they took the prop
out that was originally used and replaced it with a projector. It was still awesome though. I also loved when they kept switching
between the Americans and the Vietnamese with the wall. Within the blink of an eye you were on the other side of the gate.
I’ll admit, when the girls started dancing on the poles and every upstanding thing in sight, it got a bit uncomfortable
sitting next to her-I was prepared for that though. I could tell you every little detail about that day like when we tried
biting mints in half in the dark to make them spark, or how her dessert at the Olive Garden had a little something extra in
it, but that’d probably be boring for you. It was an awesome day that I will never forget as long as I’m alive.
MICHAEL FLATLEY'S LORD OF THE DANCE
Did I get lucky or what? Well, sort of. My mom and I were planning on going to the Lord Of the
Dance on the 12th of February, however, she ended up getting sick. She asked if I wanted to invite Mrs.VandeWalle to
go see it, and I said of course! So she called her and thankfully she could go. It was her birthday and all, so
I wasn't sure if she'd be busy or not. The show was amazing. Of course, when I got home I tried moving my ankle
like them to show my mother and almost broke it! Haha. The lighting effects were awesome, even the strobe lights.
You could really tell who was the diva of the show right away. She reminded me of Jessie from Saved By the Bell.
They were all very talented and completely in sync. It was great! At the end everyone started standing up
and applauding, and then the theater went black and everyone was like "Can we leave?" and then the music started again and
they all bowed, and danced their little legs off, and we applauded some more, and it went on like that a few times.
It was a blast hanging out with Mrs.V again...we had some really great conversations.
SWAMI RETURNS
I think I was always bugging her about moving back here. She ended up moving back last summer on August 2nd.
I bugged her and bugged her then felt bad and then bugged her more to let me come see her. I was really happy I got to see
her because I was leaving for California a week later and would be gone for a week, and just really wanted to see her and
Hannah and Lucas--I suppose Mr.V too, but I don’t really know him. You have no idea how incredibly ecstatic I was!!
She hadn’t changed at all--except that she had gotten a “mommy haircut”.
THE VANDEWALLE’S
Mrs.VandeWalle has two children, Hannah and Lucas. Hannah is 8, and completely adorable. Lucas is almost 2.
I call him “Lil’ Lucas Bumpkin’ ”, for no reason really. It just kind of came out one day. He is too
cute!! I used to baby-sit Hannah when she was younger, and I remember this one time, I had walked her into her school and
she goes “Dannah, come here” like she was going to tell me something, and she gave me a kiss and said “I
love you!” Aww, it was the cutest thing ever. I love little kids, I just take an extra special liking to Mrs.V’s.
Lucas said my name!! He always says “Han-nah-nah-nah” but this was a distinct “DAN-nah-nah-nah”. Boy
did I feel loved! Apparently Mrs.V used to dress Hannah up as a Chiquita Banana for Halloween *cruel* haha. At least I never
actually had to live up to the nick name “Dannah Banana”. Oh, her husband is completely obsessed with Star Wars.
I cannot judge however, because I too have strange obsessions. Not that I’m saying Star Wars is strange in
any way...*giggle* No, no, the Star Wars lights added so much to their Christmas tree, really!!
MORE!!
So you’re probably wondering why Mrs.VandeWalle is so special to me, right? Well, when I was in 6th grade I really
needed someone to talk to. I could not talk to my friends, because I did not want things to get around school. She offered
to let me talk to her, and I took her up on the offer. She seemed to always know what to say to make me feel better. She still
does that. Mrs.V is the one person that I tell everything to. (That’s why we’re gonna be friends forever...she
knows too much! *snicker*) Like I said, she just seems to understand. She was the first person that told me that she believed
I could make my dreams come true. I’m sure that some people probably still think it is weird, but that’s
too bad for them. As Mrs.V told me “Who gives a rat’s ass as long as you know what’s true!” Words
to live by, I’ll tell you. There’s tons more that could be said, but I’m sure she would not want everyone
with access to this site to read it. She’s just an awesome person. She makes me feel really special without doing anything
out of her norm. I have three friends in this world that I would be completely lost without: Nicole, Emily, and Mrs.V. They
have kept me sane throughout the many ups and downs in my short life, and I owe the world to them because of that. My wish
for the world is that everyone can have someone even remotely as special to them as Mrs.VandeWalle is to me. Even though I
am no longer in her classroom, she continues to teach me all of the time. Oh yeah, and she’s an Angel...My Angel
:-D
She keeps saying she's gotta be me better pictures...I think she's
pretty anyways!! But hey, the more pictures the better! :-)
My favoritest picture ever!! |

I BELIEVE IN ANGELS
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Angels are students in Heaven, and teachers on Earth.
Illusions of Forever
"As we gaze into the depths of life, often found are the boundaries set forth by a world
of shallow darkness. Boundaries created by doubt, by fear, whispering to the hopeless and unknowing, that there is nothing
beyond what is here and that forever is but an illusion. Few are those who see into the alluring depths, beyond the boundaries
of man and into themselves to find the overflowing waters of truth."

Seeing as Mrs.VandeWalle is such an inspiration
to me, I tend to do a lot of writing and drawing that involves her. Here are a few examples!
|
|
|
|
|
This is my latest work of art. I'm loving this Desktop Publishing class!! |
I chose this color
palette due to the meaning
of each color.
Red: This is a color of strength. You have shown signs of strength in
many, many ways. I chose the reddish pink color to signify friendship, for obvious reasons. The dark reddish color also represents
courage. You are one of the most courageous people I know. You will notice that the angel is a shade of pink. I did this to
signify that no matter what the situation is, God will always protect you, and give you the strength to make it through.
Orange: There is a hint of orange around the middle circle. This combines
the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. This color is associated with joy and sunshine. I hope that your life is always
heading in the right direction and the sunshine makes your day a little bit brighter. Orange also represents enthusiasm, creativity,
success, determination, and encouragement.
Blue: This picture contains many shades of purple, however, you could not see this color
unless red is combined with blue. Blue symbolizes trust, confidence, faith, truth, and heaven. Not to mention wisdom. You
have broadened my view of life so greatly with the wisdom and intelligence that shines through everything you say.
Purple: Purple combines the stability of blue and the ability of red. The color conveys
wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, and mystery. No matter what
happens may you always have your dignity. Always think for yourself--but do not be afraid to listen to what others have to
say.
White: White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, and purity. This color also
represents a fresh beginning. If ever your life seems to be dark, may you be given the chance for a new beginning with a hand
to guide you to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Black: Last but certainly not least, the color black. Although this color usually holds a negative connotation,
I chose to use it in this picture for one reason; Black signifies grief. If I were to ever lose your friendship I would grieve
endlessly.
NEWEST POEM
My Guiding Light
Dedicated to Tracy VandeWalle, Nicole Micolichek,
and Emily Kane. I owe you three the world. You are the guiding light in my life, and keep me from drowning in my tears. I
love you!
The million shards of glass/Cut deep into my soul/A feeling that I cannot surpass/I am falling down an
endless hole
I see the light, so very dim/I see your hand reaching to me/You seem to know when my life is grim /You hold
the candle so I can see
Pull the pain from my life/Bottle up all my tears/It is cutting like a knife/Protect me from all my fears
I looked into the mirror and
cried/A portrait that is not my own/Unworthy, skewed, broken inside/The
image I have always known
Holding tightly to your hand/You guide me to the surface/Seeming always to understand/You bring me to a
better place
Once again you have saved me/When I lost all will to try/You caught me when I was falling endlessly/You
offered me a shoulder upon to cry
You save me when I am going
down/I owe all my sanity to you/You make me smile when I want to frown/I want to thank you for all that you do
.......................................................................
Angel Undercover
An angel undercover/Is watching over me/I have
often wondered/If it is possible to see
Wings lined with silver/A heart so pure and sweet/An
angel undercover/Is watching over me
God has sent an angel/To keep me safe and strong/I
will never tell/But I have known all along
Here to keep me well/Watching what I do/My undercover
angel/Is none other than you
Missing
There would be times when I would cry
because I missed Mrs.V so much. Imagine not seeing your friend, and the person who had the power to keep you sane for
two years. Multiply that feeling by 10 and you may start to feel how I felt
There is an emptiness inside of me/It
never goes away/I hope that nobody else can see/The void is here everyday
I want to feel this loneliness no
longer/In the past my feelings I have told/But trying to ignore it only makes it stronger/This feeling is really getting old
The day will come when we meet again/And
I just cannot wait/Let the reminiscing begin/I am already starting to anticipate
The pain of missing you is terrible/I
just want to make it go away/It’s becoming almost unbearable/But I know that it is here to stay
You have left your mark on me/It
is here forever/I’m not crazy, I hope that you can see/You are going to get rid of me never
You’ll come/I know you will/Then
we’ll have some fun/However, I will miss you still
No matter how bad things get/Or how
far the distance between us/I will be a friend to you yet/And even if they think I’m nuts
There will be an emptiness inside
of me/It will never go away/I don’t care if everyone can see/Then they’ll know the void gets bigger everyday
~*~Dannah~*~
Mrs.VandeWalle. Thank you for being there for me.
Love you.
.......................................................................
Thank You
I don't know how many people achieve
a 'friend' status with their middle school teacher, I haven't found another one yet...and sometimes people tend to think this
is strange. Oh well to them! In this poem, I thank Mrs.VandeWalle for being there for me.
No one really knows the bond
that we share/When I try to explain they just don’t understand/They don’t
realize just how much I care/But I know that we have the upper hand
You have always lent me your
ear/An impression of your hand is left on my heart/Now I want you to know that I am
always here/Because you’ve been there for me from the start
No words could ever repay/No expression could ever show/From the start what I have been trying to say/I
just wanted to make sure you know
I treasure your friendship
like gold from the ocean/Your words dig deeper than you could ever imagine/No one
knows exactly how it began/I can’t even begin to fathom
No matter how our story ends/You have already rewritten mine, this is true/Because I know you and I will always be friends/Now I would like to say thank you
~*~Dannah~*~
.......................................................................
Looking Deeper
Whenever I get an e-mail from Mrs.V
I always look deeper into it. Anything she says I critically analyze against my own will. It gets very frustrating
at times, as this poem shows.
I tell you everything/But it never seems
as though I’m through/Each day seems to bring/A thought that’s crazier and new
I read your e-mails/And can’t help
myself from/Looking for any hidden details/That might have overcome
I try to see beyond /If there’s something
you’re not saying/Something to secure this bond/Formed from the game that we’re playing
Why do I feel the need to look so deep/I
can’t just stay at the surface /My mountain of thoughts is so steep/And I think that every thought has a purpose
I’ll tell you everything and more/But
it never seems as though I’m through thinking/Each day seems to bring more than before/A thought that’s crazier
and new before I’m done blinking
~*~Dannah~*~

Remembering
I wrote this poem for Mrs.VandeWalle when
she seemed to be stressing. Everyone gets to a point in there life at least once where things just pile up and it gets
to be too much. So, stop and smell the cocoa beans!!
Feeling down, overworked, a little depressed?/Well
someone's here to make you happy that you might have guessed/Me! Remember me, from back in the day???/School work was easy,
there was time to laugh and play
Life can be surreal passing you by without a care/Should
you try to stop it, or do you not dare?/All of a sudden, with the wink of an eye/Life is a burden and you don't know why
Take time to smell the cocoa beans/Love yourself
by any means/"Remember the happy moments when life was carefree. . ."/Wake up girl! It's time to be what you are and will
always be
A daughter, a mother, a wife, a friend, and devotee/Changing
someone's life thoughtlessly/Though you are gone the memories will stay/The day you come back will be a happy day
Until then, know that you are not forgotten/Remember
the days, when you are feeling rotten/That I am here missing you/And all of what you've left with me is true
~*~Dannah~*~
Mrs.VandeWalle. How many times can I possibly
say thank you--Not enough! No words can express how much I appreciate your friendship.
.......................................................................
Longing
There isn't really an explination to this
one, it is kind of self-explanitory.
Some things just weren’t meant to be/
But I want it oh-so badly, can’t you see? She’s
been gone for way too long And I just want to see her...is that so wrong? So give me the box of Kleenex I’ll
do what I do best Sit and remember her like I always do And think to myself, "If only she knew..."
~*~Dannah~*~
