Ryan was born on April 22,1959 in Seattle, Washington.
Ryan Stiles quit high school a few months shy of graduation and got a job doing stand-up comedy. In spite of his parents'
objections, he was able to support himself for several years but quit doing stand-up when, as he says, "everybody else started
doing it." He didn't stray too far from the world of comedy. In 1986, he joined the highly acclaimed Second City comedy ensemble
in Toronto, where he honed his improvisational skills. In 1990, Stiles was invited to join the Los Angeles Second City group.
Film and television roles soon followed, including parts in Hot Shots and Hot Shots, Part Deux, as well as the Academy Award-nominated
short, Rainbow War. For the past ten years, he has been a regular performer on the popular British improvisational hit series,
Whose Line Is It Anyway? Stiles currently serves (with Drew Carey) as an executive producer of the American version of the
same show, on which he is also a regular performer. When he's not at work, Stiles spends his time thinking about work. He
also enjoys spending time with his wife, Pat McDonald (I hope I didn't kill the name), and thier two children.
