where i've been and where i'm going
it has definitely been an interesting few past days. and, i figured that
i might as well write about it now, while i have a bit of free time. let's
do this chronologically, starting with
wednesday: wednesday was a very laid-back day. i
got into the darkroom for the first time since december 1997, and it was
so good to be back. i love working in there. i'll hopefully get a chance
to go up today and start working on the prints i want to make. there was
the first chorus rehearsal wednesday night, which was fun in it's own
weirdjohnalston way. this semester we're singing faure's requiem,
which is a nice change of pace (the first non-baroque piece we've done
since i've been here), and we're also singing mozart's vespers, which
i'm sure will be wonderful. and it's fabulous to have emily back in chorus,
though i'm going to have to work hard to keep her there. after chorus
will and i
hung out with his boy chris. it was good, i'm glad i know will's significant
other a bit better now. we hung out until the squ meeting at 10. the
meeting was interesting. of course half of the people in the room i'm friends
with, so it was nothing if not social. we'll see if this is something i
continue with, though. after the squ meeting, neil and i went to sam's to
pick up the tape of 90210 (yes, yes, it was the premiere of the 10th season
of 90210. can you believe it?). we took it over to emily's, where we
all were in heaven watching it. you know, i didn't watch it at all last year-
being gone first semester and then not having emily or neil around second
semester just kept me away from it completely. it's so good to have the 2 of
them back. so, after 90210, against our will we watched the first episode
of this weirdass show, get real. not that great, but it kept us captive.
i finally got to my room around 2am for some needed sleep.
thursday: the day of thursday was not to interesting in and of itself. just had class, and such. that night though, was the niners party. at 9:09pm, on 9/9/99, we were having a party. it was good fun, i love being able to start my weeekend on thursday now. and, to keep the tradition alive, we played a good game of spin the bottle. unfortunately, in my drunken stupor, i agreed with 7(?) other people in the game that any time we saw each other for the whole weekend, we'd kiss. so. i've been doing a bit of avoiding, a bit of kissing. i'm always amazed at who i'm willing to kiss once i've had enough to drink.
friday: friday (yesterday) was a great day. david and i went into the city for 7 hours, and had a lot of fun. we did some madcrazy shopping, at thrift for aids and at a perfect world and at condom kingdom and at pearl art supplies. we got water ice, did a lot of walking, spent some time sitting next to the delaware river. the best though, was dinner. we went back to the indian restaurant that we took my parents to last semester. we ate amazing food, amazing bread, and, since it was something we've been wanting to do for awhile, we ordered a whole bottle of wine with dinner. how fabulous. the city looked so beautiful after dinner (it helps to have half a bottle of wine in you). so we walked some more, went down the the wine and spirits shoppe on chestnut to purchase mass quantities of alcohol, and kept walking all the way down to suburban station. we took the 7:55pm train back home, on which we both were completely knocked out. back at david's, we dyed his hair blue, and had much discussion about sex, with everyone who stopped by. it came to a point around 2am or so where we were both falling asleep on our feet, so i crashed on david's couch and we went to bed. got up this morning, walked home... and here i am.
this is not a very reflective entry, but i just wanted to get down what's been going on. right now, i need to take a shower, 'cause i'm meeting david and sarah for lunch in less than an hour. maybe if the mood hits me later today, i'll write something a bit more introspective.
later, alligator.
