Dear Eleanor:
I'm a married man, and I have been "sexting" my wife's
aunt for about a year now.   We have never sent pictures
or done any type of video chat – it's all been just hot and
heavy texts. She wants to start video chatting, but I am a-
gainst it.  I feel like texting  is  not  cheating  because it's
just text and not sex.   But as soon as pictures and videos
and live sessions start, then I am cheating on my wife.

My question for you is, am I already cheating just by text-
ing?  I’m sure my wife would think so, but in my heart of
hearts  I  disagree;  yet I do think videos and live sessions
would be crossing the line. Have I crossed the line alread-
                            y?
                                                                                                     It's Just Text
Dear Justy:
You're just sick.  Call it "sixt."  That's all I'm gonna say.

HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE:

Remember, if you don't want to receive any more of this inane crap,
just hit your "Reply" button and type in the subject line, "GET THESE
TABLOID HEADLINES OUT OF MY LIFE AND FUCK OFF!"

But remember also, you have to spell and punctuate the message
exactly as it appears above €“ without quotation marks, and without
that redundant "Re: " that appears in so many subject lines €“ or you
will keep getting this shit!  ("Cut and paste" won't work, either.  We
have a special filter to detect that.)

DISCUSSION GROUP:

Don't forget!  Readers interested in intellectu-
al dissection of important current events  are in-
vited  to attend the Weekly World News Round
Table  at  the  offices  of   Borf   Books  outside
Brownsville,  Kentucky, just  after church every
Sunday. Guest speakers lined up for meetings in
the near future will include Molly Swietek.

LETTERS to the EDITOR:
Natty Bumppo, Attorney at Law, wrote Mon 5/18/20 @09:13 CDT:
I think Dear Eleanor missed a couple of things in her advice
to the doglorn
last week.  If the dog were to be regarded as a
child, there would be no contest:  It was solely the fella's, by
acquisition before his entanglement with the girl friend.

If it were to be regarded as property, same deal:  Property ac-
quired before the marriage is not marital property,  and  thus
not subject to a divorce decree.
Dear Eleanor replies.
Thank you for your  legal  opinion,  and I will defer to your
expertise.  But I don't think this guy was asking for legal ad-
vice; he merely wanted to do right by the dog.

not with people  (except for trainers and jockeys). .  .  . The

Dear Eleanor:
I understand that "nonbinary" folks prefer the
pronoun "they" to "he" or "she."    It will take
getting used to, OK; but, when it refers to one
person, do you use a singular or a plural verb?
Singular sounds weird, and plural is confusing.

                                                                             Grammar Nerd

Dear Nerd:
"Weird" is one of the definitions of "singular."  But
what is confusing is  Merriam-Webster's  caving to
                      the usage.  They's no sayin'. . . .

                      How 'bout:
                                          He, she, it, shit,
Ain't no good way to defecate it.

Putting one little word after another, and, is a wet dream virtual sex?

Dear Eleanor:
My girl friend and I are breaking up.   Property divi-
sion is easy enough,  and we have no children.   But,
what about the dog?  It was my dog before I met her,
and I love the dog more than she does;  but  the  dog
clearly loves her more than it loves me.

Dear Pettimist:
Treat it like a divorce:  One of you gets the dog, and
the other gets liberal visitation and pays dog support.
In the dog's best interest, I recommend her for custo-
dy, you for support and visitation.

Dear Eleanor:
My brother is 42 and getting married for the first time.
His bride has been married before.

My mom and I would like to give her a bridal shower,
but it seems they have most of what they need.  How-
ever, they don't own their home. How do we send out
invites and ask guests to give money toward either the
cost of the wedding or larger purchases like new furni-
ture or a down payment on a home without being rude?

                            Is there a proper way?
