The 2001 Step Show winners were:

Step Show Rules:

1.) Judges will judge on all of the following categories:
Crowd Response,

2.) Uniformity,

3.) Vocal Clarity,

4.) Theme:
(Tribute to the 1st Family of Service, Past, Present, & Future...),

5.) Originality,

6.) Coordination and Time.

7.) Each group can have their own announcer. If they would like for
the MC of the Step Show introduce their group please notify the
Step Contest Committee Chairman (See Registration).

8.) Champions will step last.

9.) Timing of each step routine each step team routine will
be no longer than 10 minutes with points being deducted in
increments of one half-point per minute over. As their will be a
limit of the maximum time allowed so is their a minimum set time
allowed of 8 minutes per step team as well. If your step team fails
to reach your 8-minute requirement you will be penalized
in One half-point increments as well for every minute shy of 8.
Ex: if a team steps for 7min 14secs, that team will be penalized
for a minute, if a team steps for 10min 01secs they will be
penalized for 1 minute. All minutes will be rounded off
accordingly. Time will be held by the Step Contest Committee
Chairman, it is advised that a step team member be present with
Step Contest Committee Chairman to instruct to start as well as
stop the time, and view the time upon stopping for verification
purposes. If no member is present to verify the timing then the
time accessed will stand accordingly.

10.) The winners will be awarded
a trophy and will be crowned Alpha Phi Omega and Gamma Sigma Sigma
Family Step Champions for One Year.

11.) Registration:
All step groups must register.

12.) Failure to register will place you
first in the step rotation,
or in place according to other late registrations.
