He married Amanda Richardson in Fairfax, Vermont, 30 May 1847. Amanda was born in Fairfax, Vermont Abt 1827. Amanda died 4 Oct 1880.

Emerson Shepardson and Amanda Richardson had the following children:

1983 i. Sarah¹⁰ Shepardson was born in Fairfax, Vermont Abt 1850.

1984 ii. Gardner Shepardson was born in Fairfax, Vermont Abt 1852.

1985 iii. Edward Shepardson was born in Fairfax, Vermont 1848. Edward died Oct 1889 in Belleville.
