"The future has already happened, mankind has just not arrived at all points in time yet."
"But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand." (Ezek 33:6)
Many things are happening which signify the tribulation will take place soon. This catastrophic event is inevitable. The earth is beginning to moan as massive earthquakes erupt around the world both on land and under the sea. Stars are exploding, ultraviolet light from the sun is piercing the earth's ozone (heating the earth). The world is full of unrest: the murder rate is up every year; the unborn being slaughtered by the millions; children are being taught self-esteem in public schools, causing them to be disrespectful to others; Mothers and fathers are killing their children; robberies and burglaries are taking place at an alarming rate; and the list goes on. This chaos will be the motivating force for the world to look for a world leader (the antichrist) who can bring peace and tranquility.
Preparations are well under way. The world must become organized with power over people centrally controlled in a way to make it conducive to have one world leadership and control. The model below is indicative of the soon-to-be one world system.
At the beginning of the tribulation the reins to world control will be handed over to the antichrist (the white horse) believing he will bring about peace and harmony, the world will see him as a savior. His commands will be sanctioned by every governing body until he has full grip over the entire world. Then he will take away people's ability to defend themselves; he will have control over all food sources; he will control all the money and the ability of people to barter for food and clothing. Chaos is about to happen! Things will soon be taking place that has never been and will never be again.

Battle of Armageddon
At the end of the great tribulation all the past events focus together into one fierce battle between the forces of good and evil.
Armageddon is mentioned only once, by name, in Scripture-- in Revelation 16:16. "For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty" (Revelation 16:14).
The Seventieth Week of Daniel (Daniel 9:24-27) has all but completed, when the 6th Vial is poured out. Antichrist presented himself as God, to be worshiped in the Temple, at the center of the Tribulation Week (2 Thessalonians 2:4). The Tribulation Saints have been raptured at the 7th and Last Trump, approximately 8 days before the End of the Week. With all of God's people removed from the planet, the LORD God Almighty has the greatest liberty to deal with mankind.
The Tribulation Saints must be completely removed by a Pre-Wrath Rapture. Jesus made the point in the parable of the wheat and tares. "He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto Him, Wilt Thou then that we go and gather them up? But He said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into My barn" (Matthew 13:28-30). This describes the final harvest of the nations of the world. The Pre-Wrath Rapture (which is the final harvest of the Church) occurs before the separating of the sheep from the goats (which is the final harvest of all the nations of the world) (Matthew 25:31-46).
Antichrist represents "the kings of the earth and of the whole world" (Revelation 16:14). The "kings of the east" (16:12) are a significant part of Antichrist's army from the Far East. They are not his opponent at Armageddon. Who do they really think they are going to fight? Not each other. As much as they may hate each other, they are coming to fight the KING of Kings. Unreasonable? Yes. "There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD" (Proverbs 21:30). Still, if they won't repent, they must oppose the Living God. "He that is not with Me is against Me: and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth" (Luke 11:23).
Armageddon is the showdown between the LORD Jesus Christ and the Antichrist. In Antichrist's corner are all the weapons of the world, as well as Satan's lying wonders. "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders" (2 Thessalonians 2:9). The LORD Jesus is armed with only His person-- "and His name is called The Word of God" (Revelation 19:13)-- however, "out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God" (Revelation 19:15).
The world is watching this engagement. "Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him" (Revelation 1:7). The kings, which represent the whole world, and their armies will be there-- gathered by Satan's demons. "For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty" (Revelation 16:14). And all of God's angels will be there. "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the LORD Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the Gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the LORD, and from the glory of His power" (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9). And also, all of God's Saints will be there. "And the armies which were in Heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean" (Revelation 19:14).
Armageddon is more an event than it is a place. It is "the battle of that great day of God Almighty" (Revelation 16:14). As a location, Armageddon relates to the Mount of Megiddo, in the northern part of Israel. It also relates to Megiddo, a city located in the Valley of Jezreel (also called the Plain of Esdraelon). Blood will flow thick and deep. 1,600 furlongs is about 200 miles. "And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs" (Revelation 14:20). The entire length of Israel will be a killing field-- but only for the dead bodies of Antichrist's troops. "And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of His mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh" (Revelation 19:21).
Though the Campaign of Armageddon lasts 5 days (Tishri 10 to 14), the actual Battle will probably take place in one day. When the LORD Jesus Christ begins to slay His enemies, it will probably be ended the same day. "And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God" (Revelation 19:15). However, if an extra day is needed to complete Armagaddon, the LORD Jesus could do for Himself what He did for Joshua-- give Himself an extra, supernatural day! "And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day" (Joshua 10:13). On Antichrist's part, just the logistics of amassing his forces will take a good part of those 5 days-- as well as the last part of the Tribulation Week after the 6th Seal Judgment.
The final outcome of the Battle of Armageddon is assured. Jesus will win. Satan will lose. "And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season" (Revelation 20:1-3). Both the Beast (the Antichrist) and the False Prophet will immediately receive their eternal judgment, being cast into the Lake of Fire. "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone" (Revelation 19:20).
The Earth's Last Day
The last day will begin immediately after the Tribulation ends. Its beginning will be marked by powerful disturbances in the heavens, with the earth trembling in response:
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. (Mt 24:29)
The earth shall quake . . . the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining . . . for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it? (Joel 2:10-11)
But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. (Mk 13:24-25)
At the start of the last day, the powers of the heavens will be shaken. The ordained light-givers-the sun, moon and stars (Gen 1:14)-will darken, causing a reduction in earth's natural lighting. Also, stars will fall from the sky (not necessarily impacting the ground yet) and the earth will tremble, causing tidal disturbances. These events will take the world by surprise and people will be frightened:
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Lu 21:25-26)
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains . . . (Joel 2:1-2)
The nations will be in distress; they will not understand what is happening (this realisation will come only when the Lord returns). Thus, people will become perplexed, anxious and fearful. The heavenly disturbances may last for some hours.
Before the disturbances intensify too much, the Lord will return, like lightning flashing from one part of the sky to the other. Every person on earth will see Him, both believer and unbeliever alike:
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be . . . and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Mt 24: 27, 30)
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. (Rev 1:7)
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. (Mk 13:26-27)
When the Lord returns, He will gather all believers (the elect) to Himself. T hey will also receive their glorified bodies then, an event known as the "resurrection of life" (Jn 5:29). First to receive their glorified bodies will be the believing dead. Then, the believers who are alive at Christ's coming will be instantly transformed:
"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." (1 Thes 4:13-18)
Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (1 Cor 15:51-52)
The gathering of the believers will occur in full view of the unsaved, who will watch in fear:
. . . the Spirit of life from God entered into them [i.e., the two witnesses, who typify the believers], and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. (Rev 11:11-12)
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him . . . (Rev 1:7)
Simultaneous with the gathering of the believers will be the awakening of the souls of the unsaved dead, who shall also receive their resurrected bodies then. Jesus called this event the "resurrection of damnation":
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (Jn 5:2829)
. . . there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. (Acts 24:15)
. . . and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (Dan 12:1-2)
From these passages, we can deduce that every soul ever created will see the Lord's return, the gathering of the elect, and the events that follow.
After the elect are gathered, the unsaved (the only people left on earth now) will realize that the great day of God's wrath has come. However, they will not be destroyed straight away. Before the universe collapses, God will send a series of plagues upon mankind. They will be so intense and painful that men will blaspheme God throughout. Observe some of them:
And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun . . . And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues . . . And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain . . . And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores . . . And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air . . . and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth . . . And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great. (Rev 16:811, 17-18, 21)
These plagues-which complete God's wrath-are outlined in full in Revelation 15 and 16, under the typification of the seven vial judgments. They will take place in the hour between the Lord's return and the destruction of the earth, and they are very severe; consider them all:
The final plague (the earth's destruction as the universe collapses) is the climax of the heavenly shake-up that began just hours earlier. This will conclude the earth's most horrific hour, as God repays spiritual Babylon-this world-for her sins:
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. (Rev 16:17-19)
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?(Rev 6:13-17; cf. Isa 2:19-21)
And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her [i.e., with Babylon], shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. (Rev 18:110).
At the climax of the last hour, God will destroy not only the earth but the whole universe. It will be dissolved and swallowed in fire:
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. (2 Pet 3:10-13)
The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land. (Zep 1:14-18)
After the destruction of the universe-which will usher in eternity-all the wicked will be assembled before the Judgment Throne of Christ, to account for their lives. The "books" will be opened and every sin that they ever committed will be revealed to condemn them, even every idle word (Mt 12:36). Being found guilty, they will be cast into the "lake of fire"-or eternal hell-as punishment for their sins:
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Rev 20:11-15)
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. (Mt 12:36)
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. (2 Cor 5:10)
The "eternal state" refers to one's future after the Judgment Throne. For believers, the eternal state is glorious: they will live and reign with Christ forever in the new heavens and new earth:
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. (Isa 65:17-19)
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Rev 21:1-4)
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. ( Rev 22:3-5)
By contrast, the eternal state for sinners is unthinkably terrible. After their appearance before the Judgment Throne, sinners will be consigned to hell. There, they will spend eternity in everlasting torment:
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Mt 13:41-42)
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. (Mt 25:41) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Rev 21:8)
The punishment of hell for sinners is certain; it is not an empty threat. The Apostle Paul knew this when he said in 2 Corinthians 5:11: "Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men." Paul knew the reality of God's wrath and the awful destiny for sinners. This knowledge quickened him in his witness. Judgment Day and hell are certain and the time to avoid them is now. Paul rightly declared in Hebrews 2:3: "how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation."
This overview on the dreadful nature of hell, one might be prompted to ask: What will hell be like? Although the Bible reveals few details about it, we can assume at least the following characteristics:
It will be a place of absolute darkness. Hell will probably be located outside the new heavens and earth (we can infer this from passages such as Rev 22:14-15 & 2 Th 1:7-9). Since the light of Christ will illuminate the new heavens and earth (cf. Rev 21:23), outside-where hell is-there can be no light. Thus, hell is called the place of "outer darkness" (Mt 8:12; 22:13) where "the blackness of darkness for ever" abides (Jude 13; cf. 2 Pet 2:17). Incidentally, since fire gives off light, I do not believe that hell will be a place of literal fire. The fire is symbolic, to emphasize the awful torment there.
There will be no blessings from God. In 2 Thessalonians 1:9 we read that those in hell "shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power". Our finite minds cannot fathom the immense torment of being separated from God's glory. Even the most cursed person on earth receives blessings from the Lord's presence (the warmth of the sun, the beauty of creation, etc.). However, those in hell will be totally shut-off from God's blessings.
Its occupants will be tormented there. The biblical language concerning the pain of hell is ugly. There will be wailing, weeping and gnashing of teeth (Mt 13:42; 24:51). Also, sinners will be subject to shame and everlasting contempt (Dan 12:2). Furthermore, they will be distraught over knowing that the believers are with the Lord (Lu 13:28). To add to their torment, "their worm shall not die" (Isa 66:24). At least two points are suggested by this statement: 1] the condition of spiritual decay will never cease for sinners, and 2] they shall retain the knowledge of their wicked acts forever.
Degrees of torment. Luke 12:47-48 suggests that there will be degrees of punishment in hell, depending on how sinful one's life was on earth: "And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes" (cf. Mt 11:22-24). Degrees of punishment explains one reason why the books of people's lives will need to be examined at the Judgment Throne (to determine the individual measure of judgment).
It is everlasting. Revelation 14:11 teaches that there will be no respite from the pain of hell: "the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night." This torment cannot be annihilation (as some teach) because the Bible clearly says that it will go on "for ever and ever."
From this short discussion, we can appreciate our urgent need to be saved from the eternal punishment that God has decreed for sin. Now is the time to avoid this punishment. Now is the time to repent. Paul taught in 2 Corinthians 6:
"We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)'(1 Cor. 6:1,2)

Less one think higher of my sufficiency than is correct, let me say if there be error in this writing it is mine, but if there is truth...it is from God. I present NO NEW TRUTHS, though many people will be surprised to find out how "new" the old truths look and sound. My intentions are to present God's Word as directed by the Holy Spirit that God may be glorified. When read through spiritual eyes, the Holy Ghost will reveal to you things that are visible, and perhaps some that are invisible, concerning your relationship with and service to God.
