RGD's third fictional design will be set on coastal dunesland between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway on Little Talbot Island (a barrier island just east of Jacksonville and just south of Amelia Island, Florida). The course will play through tidal marshes and will be inspired by the design philosophies of C.B. MacDonald (tee to green), Alister MacKenzie (certain bunkering) and Donald Ross (green complexes). Most of the green sites will be surrounded by closely mown chipping areas reminiscent of Pinehurst No. 2. Estimated completion is fall/winter 2001.
