9th green: TPC Sawgras (Stadium course)

TPC @ Sawgrass (Stadium)
The Stadium course at the TPC @ Sawgrass was designed in the late 1970’s by Pete Dye (with substantial contribution from then PGA Tour commissioner Dean Beaman). Dye was instructed to design a torture track that would test the best golfers in the world during the PGA Tour’s preeminent event, The Players Championship. Mr. Dye did not disappoint and in 1982 the inaugural hosting of The Players Championship at the TPC @ Sawgrass was won by Jerry Pate. Over the years the course has seen several changes and has become one of the most renown, respected and revered courses in the world. The GBC version of the courses was released by RGD on January 26, 2000. This course was authorized via an email from the PGA Tour which stated that they would consider a GBC version of the course a "private use." This GBC version is available for individual use only and is not to be used on any shareware or course-CD packages.
