South Africa: rainbows and deserts

    Some idyllic moments ....

Two girls in their uniforms feeding a young gazelle.

The school has a small nature reserve. There are some springbok, South Africa's National animal, a white guinea fowl, some tortoises and of course birds.

      Exploring protea

Getting a close-up look of one of the numerous proteas, South Africa's national flower.

About 2km from the school is the Van Staden's Wildflower Reserve, where proteas are grown. Proteas and the erica grow in abundance in the forest around the school, but it is against the law to pick any of these majestic flowers.

      Looking at the world

Enjoying the magnificent vista after school.
