After the Cancer

As I said previously, Mrs. Waldo passed away at 10:47 PM on December 18, 1998. This was a week before her birthday-Christmas, she had her party lastnight with her family around her and a birthday cake. Shortly after the cake, she left earth and finished her birthday party with God, in a much better place.

Once I got the phone call telling me that she had passed away, I just couldn't believe it. My friend had just watched his mother die; it must've been the most horrible experience of his life. Another of my friends and I could only sit and stare at the wall, it was too much to understand. A few moments later we decided to go to my best friend's house to make sure he was ok, although I had my doubts about whether or not my presence would be welcome, we went anyway. When we pulled up to his house, there were cars and cars lined up and Waldo (my friend, obviously) sitting on the porch. I couldn't say a word so I just hugged him. It was the first time I've ever seen him cry-I'm glad it was on my shoulder. After a good cry on both our parts and a few jokes about how she has probably taken control of heaven, being the stubborn, leader-type person she is, we went inside where it was a bit warmer and talked. Once it was time to leave, we went into the living room to see his mom. I've never seen an unliving person in my life except when I was too young to remember. And it's not like she looked like a person who died of natural causes, she died of Cancer: bone marrow Cancer, lung Cancer, and brain Cancer....stop smoking, to all you smokers out there, and everyone, start eating healthy foods, it could save your life. She had no hair, weighed about 80 lbs. and was a white too pale for a human. It was the most depressing sight of my life. I hope I never have to see it again, I hope my friend never has to go through it again with any other family or friend, I hope no one has to... But, even though he watched her take her last breath, he remained one of the stronger people there-he was comforting everyone else, especially the younger kids. I hope he will be able to continue being strong and I hope I will be able to help him. Again, I ask that everyone pray for Mrs. Waldo's family and friends and anyone else in a similar situation-no one should have to deal with this... Thank you for visiting, and good-bye.
