I've been blessed with three great kids.  Like all parents, I did the best I could, and hoped for the best!  Read on, and meet them!

MY SON ~ He still amazes me. He is thirty-one, single, works as a bodyman and painter at a car dealership, and is always doing something!  As a kid he was into surfing, motorcross bicycles, skiing, motorcycles, and cars!  Now he is busy with horses, and dirt bikes.  Has a million friends ~ many of them I remember driving to school.  Someone invented answering machines just for him.  He is never home!
He has been an active little devil since the day he was born. When he was growing up, I often wondered which one of us would survive!  There were times it was really a toss up!  I was always driving him to the doctor for one thing or another -- jumping his bicycle off a retaining wall and landing on his knee.  When it started swelling the size of a grapefruit ~ decided it was time for a doctor's visit. Then the time he came home with all the skin missing from his arms and leg - crashed on his bike and slid on the street.  The last 31 years have sure been interesting because of him!  Then they grow up and you think - wow - I can relax ..... no!  He was 17 or so when he got in a motorcycle accident at the cabin.  Had a 45 minute drive into town sitting in the back of a pickup truck that time!  His leg split wide open -- lost count of the stitches! Then I was home after he left for work when the phone rang.  He was in the hospital getting his head sewn up ~ was in an accident on the way to work! Now he has decided to get into team roping!  Actually, this is one of his better hobbies!  Don't like motorcycles! He has the "family" sense of humor also. Loves nothing better then teasing the heck out of me! He is very good at it ~ has my brother's talent for quick come backs! I get zapped before I know what hit me.  He is also a very caring person, and his friends mean alot to him. Several of them have small kids, and he kidnaps them at Christmas to see Christmas lights, and then stop for dinner! All the kids love him.  He makes a good "uncle"!

OLDEST DAUGHTER ~ This is my quiet, easy going, wonderful daughter.  After my son, I really needed a child that didn't run amuck!  She will be twenty-eight next month. Got married a few years ago, and also lives in town with all of us.  My whole family is within 10 minutes of each other!  She is into crafts, photography, and cats.  She works for an insurance adjuster, and has been there since she graduated from high school.  The first thing she did after getting married was get two kittens. These are my spoiled "grand cats"! When she was growing up, I think I can count on one hand any problems we had. She volunteered at the San Francisco Zoo on weekends. She loves to read, and enjoys needlepoint.  Must get this from my ex- mother in law ..... I don't have the patience! Again, the sense of humor is there also.  Have been out to dinner with her, and got to laughing so hard everyone in the place was turning to look!  Rather then the teasing my son does ~ she has the quick one liners! When she and my other daughter get together, it can be dangerous!  Their favorite restaurant cringes when they walk in the door! She and her hubby are waiting a couple of more years before making me a grandmother ..... hmmm! LOL

YOUNGEST DAUGHTER ~ She is still "work in progress". She graduates from high school (??) in June. She has a part time job at the bowling alley. She is a waitress, cook, and cocktail waitress.  She falls somewhere in between the other two.  Not as quiet and good as her sister, and not as wild and wooly as her brother!  She played softball for several years, and I was at every game! Learned more about softball then I ever cared to know! She made All Stars twice, and was a darn good hitter! Proud mom here! I had a good time watching her play, and watching her friends also. I've always called her my little mouse! Only one of my kids I had a nic name for!! There is a ten year difference between her and her sister ~ so she has grown up almost like being the only child!  And, I admit, spoiled! Right now her life is centered around her friends, and whatever "male" is in the picture this week! She reminds me constantly how much fun the "teenage" years are ..... not!  I think she is going to turn out okay ~ she has a good brain and usually she uses it.  Again, the sense of humor emerges!  Usually at my expense.  Have you noticed?  It seems my kids tease me -- just like I teased my mom! Wonder if that is genetic!!  LOL

So you've met my kids.  I've tried to teach them to be considerate, and caring.  From what I've seen, they seem to be good people.  And that's all I want. Could care less what kind of jobs they have.  Just want them to be someone you'd like to be friends with .... isn't that the most important thing?
