More Information: When he was seven his family was attacked and killed by werewolves. He was the only one who survived and had tried to kill the werewolves using silver and fire but failed and the werewolves decided to kill him slowly. They almost did but a ranger came in with a gun and frightened them off. Hugh, being smart, didn't tell anyone the truth about the creatures that killed his family. When he gets out of the hospital he searched for more Night People, because he knew that they couldn't be and weren't all bad. We find out that Hugh is not only a human but an Old Soul.. an awakened Old Soul. He is nice and gentle and became Jez's first human friend. He works for Circle Daybreak and convinced them that Jez wasn't a spy. He also aided Jez in the search for the first Wild Power.
