The Old Powers are rising - the Ancient Magic that had controlled the universe in the old days of the Night World. No one can see or know the Old Powers; they are forces of nature, not people. And they have been sleeping like giant dragons for thousands of years, ever since humans gained control of the world.
If magic is coming back again, everything is about to change . . . .
It's showing in different ways. Night People are getting more powerful. Many of them have noticed it. And the Soulmate Principle is back in effect.
The first world was destroyed by fire.
The second world was destroyed by ice.
The third world ended in water -- a universal flood.
And the fourth world, the one right now, is supposed

Vampires can also be harmed by fire, as can werewolves and witches. Witches get diseases as well, like cancer and such. Vampires can not get any form of sickness and as far as I know, neither can werewolves and 'shifters.
The Soulmate Principle"In the Night World there's this idea called the soulmate principle. It says that every person has one soulmate out there, just one. And that person is perfect for you and is your destiny. The problem being that almost nobody ever finds their soulmate, just because of distance. So most people go through their whole lives feeling not complete."

Circle Daybreak
Circles are witch organizations. But Circle Daybreak is for humans, vampires, 'shifters, and 'wolves as well. It's an underground society, as secret within the Night World as the Night World is secret within the human world. Daybreak goes against the most basic tenets of Night World law: that humans are not to be told about the existance of the Night World, and that Night People shouldn't fall in love with humans. The Daybreakers are fighting to unite everyone, to stop all the killings, and to bring peace between the races.

Circle Twilight
Circle Twilight is the middle witch Circle, for those witches who don't quite think that the humans should know, but also don't believe that humans are bad simply for being humans. The Millennium is approaching and the witches have seceded from the Night World. Most witches have followed Twilight in doing so. They want to save the humans and avert the coming darkness.Circle Midnight
Circle Midnight is the first witch circle of the Night World and the most traditional. They don't want any humans to know that the Night World exists. Living in peace is fine, but they believe the "damn Daybreakers" have the wrong idea. The millenium is approaching and the witches have seceded from the Night World, except for a small number of them. The darkest witches of Circle Midnight remain part of the Night World.
