NAS's third solo LP is a definite escape from the seduction of the golden (or platinum) goose of pop that plagued the "It was written" and "the Firm" efforts. An autobiography? Maybe not. I am? If so, then NAS is admitting that he has reached a crossroads in his career. He is a pure underground artist that has seen the platinum plaques and the green-headed goblin (check "Money Is A Bitch") and now he is ..confused? He resurrects Nasty NAS on classic cuts such as "NY State of Mind Pt. II", "Small World", and "We Will Survive". But Nasty is a thievin' nigga without a job. NAS Escobar, the Master P-ish brother with a plan shows up at the wrong time on tracks such as "You won't See Me Tonight" and "Big Things". The result is an almost pleasing LP whose sales will tell if NAS's middle ground approach to the whole Underground/National issue is successful. Platinum-plus means "It Was Written" fans and longtime supporters had to cop it on the first day. Less than a mil would mean NAS's fickle followers were scared away by the skullie/stocking cap combo and PJ scenes in the video for the first single, "NAS is Like", and true NASerites taped "I AM" off the same CD (admit it y'all).

"It Ain't Hard To Tell" scale
1 to 15: 10- praise due to Primo ( and some to the Trackmasters, too)

"Firm Biz" scale
1 to 15: 6- Timbo, and P-Didddy rear their ugly heads

"NAStradamus" scale
1 to 15: 12- check the "K-I-SS-I-N-G" gamble, and "Favor of a Favor" for niceness and uniqueness
