Of all of the GENOM towers in the world, none are quite as out of place as the mountain in the middle of downtown Chicago.  How did GENOM get zoning permission to build this huge facility?  One thing's for certain: GENOM has huge plans for the Windy City, and somehow, everybody gets the feeling that these plans do not include Chicago's current city administration, which has interfered with the megacorporation's plans.

    As has been mentioned by many, the Chicago definition of an honest politician is one who stays bought, and GENOM's problem in Chicago is that they haven't really been able to purchase any of Chicago's aldermen yet.  You can bet this is going to change, with GENOM's vast global resources and powers.

GENOM Chicago is most definitely operating at odds with the other divisions of GENOM in the US, and Kevin Sharpe is currently locked in a competition with everybody else for Quincy's favor.  The principal competitor with Kevin for current control over GENOM's U.S. division is the vice-president in charge of GENOM Washington D.C.

    The city's economic community, on the other hand, immediately embraced the largest corporation in the world (and if not for the massive MegaSoft corporation, the most major manufacturer of EVERY product in the world), after a few strategically-placed 'boomer malfunctions' ensured that the business leaders most vocally opposed to the move were. . .  dealt with.
