We must play hard and outsmart the other team. Don't let their actions dictate our behavior!

Dave Ornauer's, Stripes Sports Editor, prediction for this weekend's re-match game against the Yongsan Raiders:

"Enrique Blanco, Willie Combs and the Raiders finally ended years of frustration against the Dragons, who seemed to play in awe of their opposition during last week's shutout..."

Raiders Make it Two in a Row Over the Dragons

John Price, Photojournalist

In mythical times, from the British Isle to the Far East, dragons were feared and revered for their power and nobility. At Lombardo Field last Saturday, the Yongsan Dragons blew puffs of smoke instead of fire as they were beaten again by the Yongsan Raiders, 36 - 6.

Similar to last week’s game, the Raiders (5-0) scored on their first possession and never looked back. Numerous penalties and costly errors by the Dragons continued to add the points for their arch rivals.

Early in the game, the Dragons looked to be moving the ball effectively down the field. Dragons' QB Chester Boyles displayed his mobility to move around the pocket and running for several yards. Unfortunately, a deep thigh bruise knocked him from the game in the first quarter. With Boyles on the sideline the Dragons employed a ‘quarterback by committee’ scheme using both Andy Niewierowsici and Jerry Robinson.

With the Raiders leading at half time, 28 - 0, the Dragons were still in the game. A 95-yard interception return for a touchdown by Jerry Robinson closed the gap to 28-6. However, a long touchdown run by the Raiders in the fourth quarter sealed the game at 36 - 6. With the 30-point lead the "Fast clock" rule came into effect.

Suffering their fourth loss in a row, the Dragons (1-4) continue their improbable slide from perennial champions to overnight basement dwellers. On the other hand, the Raiders are on the brink of claiming the league title with only the Taegu Warriors standing in their way.

Next for the Dragons will be their Homecoming game against the winless Osan Cougars. The game will be on Saturday at Lombardo Field at 1300.
