Heidelberg is a city along the Neckar River in southern Germany. The city rests in the Odenwald valley of the Rheinland Platz . In the Lander, Baden-Wuttermburg, Heidelberg has a history that rivals the entire country.

Among it's many attributes, Heidelberg was once visited by the American author, Mark Twain. It was one of the few cities not to be bombed by the Allies in World War II. The university is one of the finest in Europe compared as the 'Harvard of Europe.' And it is the sire of the famous play, "The Student Prince."

If you ever get to see Heidelberg, please take in these sites:

The Holy Ghost Church
Vetters Brewery
Der Hauptstrasee
Der Konigsteuhl
and of course,
The Castle and Old Bridge

Heidelberg, Germany

The Heidelberg castle and the Old Bridge. The original black and white photograph was treated to its present appearance.

If I knew what the chemical was called, I would tell you...

The Castle and the Old Bridge from across the Neckar River. This photograph, taken from the river's banks, was reproduced from slide film.

When I took this photograph there was a demonstration. Student trying to become teachers. They already have to take a millions test, and they just found out the government is making them take another. Part of the demonstration, they 'decorated' every statue on their route.

With all the history of Heidelberg in the valley, the scenery on the Odenwald is just as impressive.
