I was on my back from the Virginia Press Association banquet the night before, and decided that since I was only 12 miles away, being in Williamsburg, why not stop at the battle site where the United State won their independence

So what do I have about visiting battlefields?

Is it a sense of appreciating history? A morbid curiousity to stand on the same spot where many died?

If anything it's probably in rememberance that I visit these hallow places in the history of the world. These are places that should never be forgotten; their sacrifices must not seem wasted in vain.

Now the only problem is to get other, whether they be Americans or not, to realize what war is all about and how it should never, ever occur again.

War is nothing but the abscence of rational thought among men. Put simple it's the dumbest thing ever conceived just to prove a point.
