The 2000 Shenandoah County Fair
Not really sure with it is that I have with snake. Grabbing this thing by the head, several people walking by couldn't help but to stop, wondering what I was doing with the rattle snake so close to my face. Well, it's quite simple: it's dead. I'm standing in front of a leather shop where the owner, Beth Lindamood, made a belt with the head as the buckle.
This is the Little Miss Shenandoah County with MY Pooh Bear! But I'm such a sucker, too as she traded me her Piglett for Pooh.
For the tractor pull, tractors of all shapes and sizes, old or young, try to pull something that weights a lot across the fairground track. Hey, that's what it looks like to me, and please remember, I'm a city boy. The closest thing I saw in the big city was a guy trying to drive his car in reserve as it was being towed away...
As many have seen, I really go for the 'unseen camera' shot... Well, not really sure if the woman was shocked or upset at the photo being taken. After talking with the couple I found out the gentleman was originally from Woodstock, living in Richmond, and would always make a return trip to the Shenandoah County Fair every year.
Even politicians make appearances to the County Fair... With the photo on the left, on the right is Congressman Frank Wolf of Virginia. Handing him the phone is Democratic Party chairman for Shenandoah County, Vito Gentile. I know, when I first saw the name, I pronounced as it's in the dictionary... Obviously that's not how he says it. Next to the two old guys is Ashley, the daughter of my EMS partner on Sunday. She won her heat, but lost the championship.
