Due to a sudden
change of plan my album will not be released
until November 99' at the earliest. Two songs
have been recorded and were added to the audio
page of this site. My LP will consist of 15 songs
and one intro and and one outro. It will be
tentatively entitled "Life:Wrath, Compassion
and Sorrow". As more tracks are recorded
they will slowl be filtered onto my website. Yo I have many plans
for my company but first and foremost is to
create a label which is receptive to the needs of
today's young/ or old hip hop artist. A brief
insight into who I am. My nickname is
"Smoke" becuz of how I aways look high
but my real name is Salahuddin Abdullah Muhammad.
I am a 18yr. old college student at Montgomery
College in Rockville, Maryland. I live on 7th and
O Sts. NW Washington, DC. It's about 5 min from
Howard University and MCI Center. Well I am just
starting out but I am looking for new artists
with potential. My first goal is this
"MONEY". Don't take that the wrong way
but yo I am sick of being a broke ass nigga. I am
a person who will be very easy to get along with
but I demand the highest quality from everyone
who will be involved. Since I am financing the
majority of the expenses I am going to be the CEO
but I am looking for an assistant to watch day to
day operations while I am busy. I as of yet
haven't appointed anyone this duty but I am very
serious about puttin out 5 singles by the end of
this year. My featured artists aren't here just
yet but once I have a roster set out then is when
I am going to designate each person to there
appropriate slot. I am looking to obtain 5 acts(
1 female singer, 1 female MC, 1 male solo MC, and
2 groups). As of now I am accepting demo
recordings which can be mailed to me. Thing's
won't be up and running till this summertime more
than likely. I am in the process of trying to
obtain federally mandated grants to fund this
business, as well as other outside sources. This
is my vision. To DE-PUFFIFY the damn country. I
am sick of the constant flood of wack bullshit in
this country. Now I am going to structure things
like this. I am going to sign with a major label
and gather enough money to finance my company
further. 50% of my profits earned will be
re-invested into my company. I am looking for
people with experience in producing. I may be
able to obtain unlimited access to a studio with
state of the art equipment. This is going to be
all love and it will be like a family. If you are
not prepared to make the sacrifices necessary
than don't inquire about this. Iwould think that
I have enough major contacts to help push any
projects which come out this label. What I would
like to add to my team though is someone who is a
major in business. I am good in that aspect but
someone with this experience will be an
invaluable asset to my team. I will let all my
artists have creative control to an extent but on
all final material my final stamp of approval
will be MANDATORY. I am well aware of a lot of
the legal technicalities and if you are signed to
me and try to cross me you will regret it
immensely. I will file suit in a heartbeat so I
don't (repeat) don't want ANY people who plan on
acting in an unsuitable and backstabbing manner.
Also ignorance is not tolerated. I want dedicated
intellectuals on my roster. Talent is just a
small cog in the music business so I will also
try to orientate anyone who is signed as we go
along. If there are any more questions please
feel free to email me.
