In His Father's house are many abodes

Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many mansions." Literally, the many mansions are many abodes or many abiding places. I enjoy the mental picture of the many heavenly mansions up on the clouds, however, that mental picture is not what Jesus talked about when He said, "In my Father's house are many mansions." Rather than saying, "In my Father's house are many mansions." He said, "In my Father's house are many abodes." You are the abiding place of His Spirit.

John 14:2-23
