Almost there. The deal is done, the new album comes out on 7/1 and the new single is coming soon to a radio station near you in mid-May. All the details -- and a new website -- are coming soon. Stay tuned!

Hi, Kids,

Wow. Although Stunt Monkey may have been seemed pretty quiet to the outside world over the last couple of months, the truth is that we've been working like crazy to get the new album together for a national summer release. The details are starting to come into better focus, so hopefully, we’ll have some that we can tell you about soon. In the meantime, we’ve just been sitting in meetings, deciding on a final track order, going through over two years worth of pictures that we've taken on the road (including a lot that couldn’t be put in the new album unless we wanted to get arrested), and playing like there’s no tomorrow in Evan’s garage to get ready to go anywhere, any time.

On the artistic side of all of this, I can only speak for myself (this is Rossi here – I just don’t want to put words into anyone else’s mouth) when I say that the new Stunt Monkey album is my favorite album that I’ve ever heard and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. I know that I may sound like a huge narcissist, but I sit in my car and listen to the new tracks in amazement and just laugh. Bill Stevenson and Jason Livemore’s production of the songs is absolutely genius and they coaxed the best performances out of us possible. The final 14-song album comes in at at little over 40 minutes and, even after listening to it for what seems like a month’s worth of times, I still can’t wait to fire it up again. I’ve never been able to say that about anything else that Stunt Monkey has ever done. ...I think that the rest of the boys probably feel the same way, but you’d better ask them...

Anyway, to completely change the subject, this crotchety old website, which has been up in a similar state for more than three years will soon be undergoing a major overhaul to coincide with the release of the new album, so enjoy (or hate) it while you can, because soon it will be history.

We have a few upcoming shows lined up in the S.F. Bay Area, so been sure and check those out if ya can. And thanks to everyone for e-mailing and asking when we’re coming to your town. Keep the requests coming and we’ll hopefully book something near you this spring.

See ya soon.

Hey, Everyone.

As always, we’re really busy here at Stunt Monkey Central. We just finished recording two more songs for the forthcoming, as yet untitled, Stunt Monkey album, at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco. Jason Livermore, our engineer from this summer’s session at the Blasting Room, flew out to the West Coast to help us out with them, they sound great, and we can’t wait for you to hear ’em. That brings the total up to 17 songs. …Speaking of hearing the new songs, you’re probably wondering when the new album is coming out. Well, we don’t quite know, but we do know that the new CD will not be on our label, Tastes Like Chicken Records, but will be put out by somebody else. This is a good thing, because it will mean that, for the first time ever, Stunt Monkey will have national distribution, meaning that you can get it in tons of stores across the U.S. Right now, we’re just sorting through stuff to try to figure out where the new Stunt Monkey home will be and when we know, you’ll be the first to find out.

We've had a great time in 2002 and if you're reading this, you're probably one of the ones who helped make it that way. As always, thanks for your support and we hope to see ya soon.

11/08/02

Well, a lot is up here at Stunt Monkey Central. But, first off, thanks to all of you in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and Northern and Southern California who have been out to our shows in the last couple of months. The response has been great and it's really cool to see more and more of you singing (screaming?) along to our songs. We're looking forward to seeing a lot of you again before the end of the year, since we've still got shows in California, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington left before the new year. Check out the info on the shows, coming soon to a town near you.

A lot of you have been asking when the 15 new tracks that we recorded at the end of the summer are coming out. We don't know all of the details, yet, but we've been working on it and hopefully we'll be able to let you know soon. Stay tuned.

See ya soon!

9/18/02

Hey.

The tour schedule for the next month-and-a-half or so is now up, so check it out. We’re looking forward to trips to four different states during that time, hopefully coming soon to a place near you!

Also, we’ve posted new pix from the Blasting Room, Warped 2002, and some other recent ventures, so check ’em out when you get the chance.

See ya soon.

9/13/02

This may sound a little repetitive, but thanks to everyone who has been coming out to shows lately and showing us their support, especially the towns we've been to recently like Pacifica and Sacramento. You all rock.

The 15 new Stunt Monkey tracks are now completely mixed and ready for mastering, which should be finished the the next week. We have no idea when they're going to come out, what order the're coming out in, or who is going to release them, but we'll let you know as soon as we find out. What we do know is that they sound HUGE, thanks to great production, engineering, and coaching by Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore up at the Blasting Room. What do the new songs sound like? Well, think some "Bulletproof," a little "Your Mom Is Hot," and a lot of new sound that you haven't heard from Stunt Monkey before. We all think that it breaks a lot of new ground for the band.

And last, but certainly not least, we want to apologize for having to reschedule our shows up in Washington State this weekend due to some personal circumstances beyond our control. We'll be back really soon, though, on October 11 and 12, so we will definitely see you then

Take care!

7/30/02

Okay, so we’ve really gotta better at updating our news. But, if you want to sort of have an idea about what we’re up to, you can always check out the message board to see what’s going on. Right now, we’re in Ft. Collins, CO, at the Blasting Room, recording with Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, Descendents, ALL). We’ve tracked 15 new songs that haven’t been released on anything anywhere before. We’re stoked on the process of recording well in a real studio with a real engineer and a real producer.

When we get back home, we have two shows in the S.F. Bay Area that are gonna kick ass. The first is on Saturday, August 17th, at the Campbell Gaslighter Theater for KSCU’s Stop, Drop, and Rock! Event with the Mr. T Experience and a lot of other cool bands. The next is the following Saturday, the 24th at the Carmel Youth Center with our boys from LA, All in Good Time, our buds from Fairfield, Pocketful of Posers, and fellow Bay Areans, 5606. For all the details (as we know them), go on by the Shows page and check it out.

Alright. Hope to see ya soon.

5/10/02

So, yeah, it’s about time for a news update. First off, thanks to everyone who’s been coming out to all of our shows up and down the West Coast. We’ve been spending a lot more time in the van in 2002, trying to get out farther and father away from home to spread the Stunt Monkey word, and your support has been awesome. In the next month, we’re in Nevada, Washington, Northern and Southern California, and probably some other places, too, so check out our Tour page for the updates...

For the third straight year, we’re playing dates on the Warped Tour. This year, it looks like we’ll be playing San Diego (7/3), Las Vegas (7/5), and Tahoe (7/6). Thanks to Kevin Lyman and everyone involved with the tour who supports independent music.

After Warped and some more shows, we’re headed to Ft. Collins, Colorado, to the Blasting Room, where we’re recording our next studio album with punk legends Bill Stevenson and Stephen Egerton. Since we’re all huge Descendents and ALL fans, we’re really stoked for the opportunity.

Hope to see ya at a show soon!

1/31/02

Hey, everyone. First off, thanks to the hundreds of you who've shown up to our shows in the last couple of weeks. Your support has been awesome and we really appreciate it. We're right in the middle of hitting five states in a month, so check out the Shows page to see if we're coming to a town near you! There are also some pretty huge shows that we can't announce just yet, so check back early and often for the latest.

Continued thanks to KMBY for spinning the crap out of "Bulletproof" and "Your Mom Is Hot."

Also, we're having a hard time keeping the new CD in stores, so if you happen by a store to get With Lifelike Action! and it's not there, e-mail us and we'll try our best to get it in. We also have a ton of new stuff (hoodies, tee-shirts, buttons, and stickers), so if you haven't been by our Merch page in a while, you should stop by.

Again, thanks to all of you who deserve it and we'll see ya soon.

12/19/01

Wow. 2001 has been a great year for Stunt Monkey. Thanks to all who helped make stuff more and more fun and interesting this year, especially, but not limited to: Bumper, Mike, Kenny, Lisa, Kevin, and all the kids down in SoCal; Andy at Blackletter for designing such great stuff for such a crappy band; Opie, Phyllis, Intern Paul, Intern Karen, Adam N., and everyone else at KMBY for their amazing support; Grand Finale Presents; Grendel, Tyler, and everyone at KSCU; the people of the former Posse for their relentless support; all of you who came out to support us in the Bay Area, SoCal, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and everywhere else we seemed to play; Hans @ Boardbro; Dan @ Extreme Coffee; Roger @ Skate Punk; the great bands who we’ve gotten to play with everywhere over the last 12 months; and YOU. Stay tuned, 2002 should be VERY interesting...

No thanks to the doubters and haters, you know who you are.

We’re headed back into seclusion to record some new songs now...

Have happy and safe holidays from the whole band. See you in 2002!

11/4/01

Hey, all,

First off, thanks to a bunch of people for all their support: Opie, Phyllis, and everyone down at KMBY for all of their support. Thanks to Bump and Mike for continuing to work it, Lisa for takin' us on and helpin' out, and all the club bookers and people at other venues that have been really great to us. And, as always, thanks to all of you who continue to come out and support us at shows. Things continue to heat up more every day because of all of your efforts.

Also, for the first time in god-knows-how-long, our Shows page is actually up to date, so check it out.

See ya soon!

9/21/01

Hey, Kids,

Well, a lot is going on with Stunt Monkey these days. First off, Stunt Monkey has been added to rotation on KMBY (104.3 FM in Monterey/Santa Cruz/Gilroy), which is Stunt Monkey’s first commercial rotation (multiple times per day) airplay. Not only that, Stunt Monkey was the #1 played band this week on KMBY! Wow. Thanks, KMBY. And if you like the song so call or e-mail and tell ’em that you wanna hear Stunt Monkey:

request line:1-877-700-KMBY
internet link: http://www.kmby.com/kmby/Requests/

This is huge, so please call or e-mail when you get the chance.

And thanks to everyone who made the Fallon, NV show so amazingly cool last Saturday, September 15th. We took a long journey in the Loaf to play in the little town 45 miles outside of Reno. And while the trip began in not such a hot way, with the brakes on the Loaf breaking in Northern California, when we got finally got there there, around 200 people showed up – probably everyone between the ages of 14-18 within 10 miles of the venue. One of the bands we played with actually did a Stunt Monkey cover, "Bake a Cake," and by the time we played, we actually had to go back out to the van to get more CDs at one point. We even got called out for an encore. Awesome. Thanks to everyone who was there and those who offered to let us sleep on their floors; the venue manager, Cory; the other bands (Little Francheska and Team Karate Warehouse); and Grendel, our road manager for the weekend.

We don't know what tomorrow brings, except for tons of shows, so we hope to see you there.

9/11/01

Hey, Everyone,

Sorry that we had to cancel tonight's show at the Garage LA, but, well, some things are more important than pop/punk. We hope that things allow us to reschedule the show soon. But for now, our thoughts are with the people who lost their lives in today's bullshit and their families who morn their loss.

Take care and be safe.

8/31/01

Hey!

First off, a huge thank you to all of you who have supported the band lately by going to our live shows (including the great turnout at our CD release party!) and by buying our new CD, With Lifelike Action! in huge numbers. We are currently selling out at Streetlight and Rasputin Records locations throughout the S.F. Bay Area, a problem which we're happy to have, but one that we'll hopefully remedy by this weekend. And if you can't get the album at a store near you, let us know by sending us an e-mail and we'll try to get it in that location, too. You can also mail order the new CD and it'll get to you quick, as well.

By the way, you can get the lyrics to the new album off our site by going here.

We're continuing to add tons of new shows in a town near you, so go check 'em out on the Shows page, which includes a lot of dates in Southern California. Watch for our Spring tour, that'll include dates in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and more...

A'right, until next time, remember: you cannot stop the rock, you can only hope to contain it...

8/9/01

Well, we are wayyyy overdue for an update. What can we say?

We can say that Stunt Monkey's new 13-song CD, With Lifelike Action! is here. It will be available in San Francisco Bay Area stores on 8/22/01. It will also begin shipping for mail order on that date, too. If you want to order a copy via mail, send $10 (+ $2 s/h) and a note saying you want With Lifelike Action! to Stunt Monkey, P.O. Box 10175, San Jose, CA, 95157-1175, and it's yours. Or, for now, you can also call KSCU (103.3 F.M. in the S.F. Bay Area at (408) 554-5728 (KSCU) and let them know that you wanna hear it immediately, 'cause they have the new disc and are already spinning it...

If you can't wait that long to get your hands on what has been several months in the making, come to the CD release party on 8/19/01 (details on the Shows page!

And, hopefully soon, this site should be undergoing a major facelift due to someone who actually knows something about web design maintaining it...

See ya soon.

5/23/01

What's up?

First off, thanks to Face*It, Team Karate Warehouse, and Bill's tolerant girlfriend for making last weekend's trip to Reno so much fun. We heart sleeping on Bill's floor, even with the new, tighter quarters. And the pliers rocked, too...

Also, thanks to the good people of LIVE 105 for spinning unsigned Stunt Monkey so damn many times lately. Seven in a week, to be exact. The most any unsigned band has EVER gotten on the huge corporate behemoth. And as a result, our phones are totally ringing. It's just our moms calling to congratulate us, but the phones are ringing... Ha.

As rumored, crazy-ass Stunt Monkey is still in the studio, banging out tracks at a nutty pace in order to have something new for you by the San Francisco edition of the Warped Tour.

And check out the shows, as we might be coming to a town near you soon.

A'right. See you at a show or on the computer. On e-mail or the messageboard, that is, not the porn site that your little brother just put your naked pictures on... Later!

5/8/01

Hey,

We haven't updated this in quite a while, and there's been soooo much news. So read on.

First off, thanks to everyone (including YOU) for showing up -- in large numbers -- to all the shows that we've had recently. It's been great to see y'all in our home of the Bay Area, as well as in places like Sacramento and Reno. And thanks to all of you for supporting the band by buying our merchandise and giving us a place to stay when we're out of town, especially the guys of Face*It, up in Carson City, Nevada. We're looking forward to playing another show with them on May 18, too. They rock, so if you're in that area, come on out to the Hard Hat in Reno and check it out.

Second, we're really looking forward to playin' some shows on the Warped Tour for the second straight year. So dial yourself in with some tickets at the official site or at Ticketmaster.

Next, thanks to the crew at LIVE 105 for their continued support.

We've added a ton of new shows, too, so be sure and check in with the shows page.

Some friends of Stunt Monkey took it upon themselves to make a message board for us, so check it out and add a little something if you feel like it.

And, finally, well, we're in the studio recording a new album as we speak. We're really not sure which tracks will survive when the dust settles, but we can say that it's sounding really good and we can't wait for you to hear it.

Talk with ya soon.

3/11/01

Yo, Kids,

Thanks to all of you for your continued support at the shows. It's great to see that more and more people are showing up at almost every one. The Outhouse show on Friday was off the hook and it featured the first solo vocal performance ever for Aram, due to the fact that Rossi charged across the stage during "Do You Know the Way to San Jose," tripped on a cord, and took out Aram's rig. Whoops.

Stunt Monkey goes for its fourth straight appearance on Live 105's SoundCheck show tonight at 9 p.m., so tune in, especially if you haven't heard the song yet. Then feel free to contact them if you want:

toll-free in the S.F. Bay Area: (800) 696-1053
in S.F.: (415) 478-LIVE(5483)
or e-mail: aaron@live105.com, noname@live105.com

And let them know what you thought.

We finally got the new mp3 and images sections up, so go check 'em out!

See ya soon!

2/23/01

Hey!

Well, we're really looking forward to tonight's show at the Canopener. After all, it's not every show that a band gets to descecrate a churh hall. Ha.

Anyway, as some of you may have heard, Live 105 (105.3 FM in the S.F. Bay Area) has our new single, "Your Mom Is Hot," and has spun it on the Sunday night Soundcheck show. They may very well spin it again this Sunday night, around 9 p.m. If you like it, and your into that calling-radio-stations-sort-of-thing, please call 'em and let 'em know that you like the song and want to hear it. Their info:

toll-free in the S.F. Bay Area: (800) 696-1053
in S.F.: (415) 478-LIVE(5483)
or e-mail: aaron@live105.com, noname@live105.com

And we've added some new shows, so be sure and check out that page.

A'right. Talk with ya soon. And thanks for your continued support.

2/05/01

Hey. Finally. A website update and makeover!

It looks like the old news section link got all jacked somehow, so this is a new link until we can figure out what up with the old one. It's probably gone forever, though, so just come here from now on.

Well, unless you’ve been living in a cave during the last several months or you just don’t care (in which case, why are you reading this?), Stunt Monkey is now a quartet. That’s right, Evan Bautista (drums) and Ben Lazarus (more guitar) are now full-fledged members of the band with all the rights, privileges, and liabilities that come with the job. Check out their ugly mugs on the Members page. Many thanks to John for playing drums with the band for the last year and a half and best wishes for the future. As for the present, the lineup changes definitely give the band a different and very cool sound, so check back on the Sounds page for new MP3s, coming soon.

We have a lot of great shows coming up, so check out the Shows page when you get a chance.

Also, thanks to all the crazy hundreds kids in Vacaville this past weekend who caused the show at the Brickhouse to get shut down by the cops due to it getting so out of hand. We'll have pictures of the blood that was spilled in the pit up soon.

A’right. Later.
