Peyote Paths
Path One (Former Peyote Trail)
A Selection Of images in Jpeg Format of Lophophora Williamsii, The Oldest being approximately six years of age, the youngest are still
attempting germination and if successful we will keep you informed as
to their progress, check the Introduction for
updates regarding this forthcoming feature.
Path Two
Eat My Cactus has not seen many images of Peyote showing the Root
Ball, we have rectified this by showing them here and now! Also
you will see the remains of the Field Mouse that was coming out, at
night and probably during the day too, eating the seed pods from
cactus and succulent flowers and taking little bites
from a wide variety of cacti and succulents contained in the
"Glasshouse in the Air" but it seems it made one foray to
many and one the cats ( with bells ) got it.
Warning - Do Not View The Big
Picture Of The Mouse If You Are At All Squeamish!!!
Path Three
In this Zone you will see the Peyote specimens that were bitten once
each. The youngest were all quite pleasant to taste but the eldest, which
had also been neglected for a few weeks and could have done with a
drink prior to being bitten which and may have, resulted in a more bitter and acidic
taste, not as pleasant but certainly not sickening either. It could also
have been that it was more mature and therefore had more
Psycho-Active ingredients making it more bitter and acidic than it's younger counterparts. We shall have
to start digging deeper to increase our knowledge and no better place
to start than right here at bite one!!!
The Latest and The
Dead
The latest selection of images from us here at Eat My Cactus. As you
may have noticed from previous visits we are not just interested in
"Eating All Our Cactus" but also in other plants that have
become part of the edible and not so edible larder.
( Very Much So In Some Cases - Don't Eat My Euphorbia's )
Eat My Cactus are also interested in the very Smelly Asclepiad family and the fascinating way that they attract flies (the flies are in total ecstasy when they come anywhere near the flower when it is open) who lay their eggs which become maggots after only 24hrs but do not come to much and usually dry up into nothing, even so we do still get the odd novice fly appearing now and again!
As promised in an earlier update "The Shrine" which will feature all the specimens that have lost the pest wars and other trauma's that have been afflicted upon them over the years. If you have a specimen that you would like for us to include in "The Shrine" then please send an Image in either Gif or Jpeg format and no bigger than 20kb please as we do not want to upset our Service Provider. You may include your return E-mail or your URL address for linking purposes , a short description as to why the specimen is now deceased please no more than twenty-thirty words and the family it belongs to.
