Where To Put the code

Some of you havent a clue about where to put the codes or how to get there, so this page is for you!

Ok if you don't know, don't panic ! It's easy enough to do. I have purposely left this page very plain so that you won't have anything to interupt your reading and understanding. You must be able to do this, or nothing else in this whole site will matter.

  1. When you first log on to WebTV, you'll see your
"WebTV Home". Thats the area where you can access "Favorites", and "Search" and all that.
  2. Click on "Settings"
  3. Click on "Mail: Signature & More"
  4. Click on "Signature"

TAAA DAAAA !!! ( You're there ! )
So now what?

Now this part is REALLY important, so pay CLOSE attention. If you forget any of this, NOTHING will work...not ONE thing, nada, nope...isn't gonna happen! So take notes, print it, do whatever it takes, but remember these things.

Now that you are there, you'll see what looks like an indented square. That's called the " signature box " or "sig box " by most people. Your cursor will be blinking in the upper left hand corner.
  1. Leave the darn thing there ! Let it land NATURALLY into position. DON'T go messin' with the up and down arrows to move it around. Your very first key stroke MUST be EXACTLY there!
  2. The first thing you are going to "tell" your page is, Hey I'm gonna start my code". ( How? ) By typing the letters html in brackets ( called container codes ).You do that like this <<>html<>> in the upper left hand corner remembering NOT to move the cursor before hitting that first keystroke.
  3. Now there are some other things to remember here. One is you will NEVER need more than ONE <<>html<>>in that box ( no ya wont, so don't even think about it ! ) and when we get to closing , you wont need more than one <<>/html<>> to end it. The one with the slash is how you " tell" your page, "Hey I'm done with my html code". The only difference between the two is the slash mark. So it's <<>html<>>to begin your sig box and <<>/html<>>to end it and EVERY other code you put in, is put between the two. Thats important enough to read twice.( Don't worry I'll wait for ya ! )

Ok you have that so NOW what?

You will want to put a background on, think of it like a placemat. You put that on first so everything else will be set on top of it.
(Yeah so where do you get a background?)
Well, there are tons of graphics and background sites out there, and I have a site of over a thousand HERE under the "Gifs and Graphics" section as well as links to other peoples sites with plenty of backgrounds. So how do you know what to type in to make them show up? Well, you need the URL or " Universal ( somethin' or other ) Locator".( I forget, I'll look it up and type in the "R" part later... hehehehe )
and to get the URL go
HERE for instructions..
If you already know how to find the URL, skip to HERE
