Emile Jean Stehelin was well known throughout the province for many of his achievements both related and unrelated to his enterprises at La Nouvelle France...however...he was very well known for his commitment to the Canadian Army and the role he played. He was and remained very proud of his military service with his adopted country and one of his last request was to be laid to rest in his uniform. Major Emile Jean Stehelin became the commander of “C” Company of the 165th Battalion and saw active duty in Europe.

I will not elaborate as Uncle Paul goes in many details in regards to his dad in his book The Electric City - The Stehelins of New France by Paul H. Stehelin.
