Chapter 13

On Saturday night, around 7pm, Anna, Emily, and Kristi arrived.
Taylor, who was their ride, also went up onto the front porch of the
house to greet whoever answered the door. After they pushed the
button, Beth answered. She has shoulder length layered brown hair.
"Everyone's in the game room downstairs, Nick will. . ." she
turned around, "uh, where did he go? Ni-"
Just then, Nick slid down the banaster, he was wearing jeans and
a white button down shirt, (he hadn't changed his shirt from work yet,
so he was also wearing an undone tie.) he also had on some really
weird sunglasses and a funky hair style.
"This way, ladies, now march! Left, left, left, right, left" Nick
said, marching military style over to the stairs leading down.
"Don't ask," Beth told Taylor," you wanna come in?"
Taylor stepped inside, "What time should I pick them up?"
"Around 11. You want a tour?"
    "O-Kay."
Beth lead Taylor around the main level. To the left was a French
doorway leading into a study. To the right was a huge staircase and a
living room, strait ahead was a kitchen, a dining room, and a den with
a fireplace. Then they went upstairs, there were five bedrooms and an
office. They went up another flight of stairs, this was Travis' room.
Then they went down to where the party was. After that, Taylor left.
Beth was just cleaning up the kitchen when the doorbell rang. Beth
answered the door, and was greeted by four men, they all walked right
in and gave Beth a hug as they walked by.
"Hi! We were in town, so we decided to stop by," Brian exclaimed.
"Oh really? And how come all you guys are here without your
wives?" Beth asked.
    "Wives? What wives?" A.J. said.
"Ya know, the ones you're married to."
    "What's marrage?" Howie asked.
    "Funny guys."
"O-Kay, they're all out on the town," Kevin said.
"They took our credit cards," continued A.J.
"So we figured, hey, free dinner at the Carter's!" Brian finished.
"Well, there's pizza downstairs," Beth said, leading them down to
the party. They found Nick playing D.J.
    "Hey Chaos!" Kevin yelled.
Nick looked up and said, "Nobody's called me that since. . . The
Backstreet Boys! Hey let's see if we still got it. O-Kay everyone,
clear the floor. 'As Long As You Love Me', c'mon guys," Nick said.
"Oh man! I knew this was a bad idea," A.J. said, as they all took
their position.
They sang and danced, then everyone clapped. They still had it.

Around 11pm, Taylor came to pick up Anna and her friends.
    "Hey Tay," Beth said.
"Hi, tell Emily that her mom is going to pick her up at 11:45,
kay?"
"Why don't you just take her home?"
"Because I called her mom and told her about the Mazey Powers
thing and said that she should pick Emily up. Her mom knows who you
are. She just doesn't know who you are. Trust me, you'll want to see
her."
Then Anna, Taylor, and Kristi left. when Emily's mom came, she was
the only one left, except A.J., Howie, Kevin, Brian, and the people
who lived at the house.

When the doorbell rang, Beth said, "I'll get it."
When she opened the door, she greeted the woman.
"You must be Emily's mom. She's right down this way," Beth said,
leading her down the stairs.
When they got down the stairs, Beth said, "Oh gosh, I'm sorry. I
forgot to introduce myself. I'm Beth, and this is Nick, my husband
and my son Travis. These are our friends Kevin, Brian, A.J., and
Howie. It's really nice to meet you."
"It's nice to meet you all," Lindsay said, "Except Beth, I have
met you before."
"Oh really. I don't remember you. When was it?"
"When we were a month old. I was your best friend for 14 years!"
Lindsay said, almost crying, "My name is Lindsay Fox, don't you
remember me?"
"I'm really sorry. I can't say I do," Beth said.
"You don't remember red, curly, frizzy hair? Come on, don't you
remember my brother was a phyco, and my dad was the pastor."
"Oh," Beth said, "Before the acccident."
"Yeah," Lindsay said in a quieter voice. By this time, everyone
was staring at them.
"I really don't remember. I wish I could, but most of the stuff
before the accident is a blur. Excuse me, I have to use the bathroom,"
Beth said, and hurried up the stairs.
She then went up the second flight of stairs.
