Press Release: Goo Goo Dolls to Release New Single, Broadway. Upcoming Radio and Television Appearances Include their Seventh Appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and a Live Performance on MTV's TRL.
Warner Bros. recording artists the Goo Goo Dolls are gearing up for their next single "Broadway." The band will make several television and radio appearances to launch the single, the fourth from their triple platinum album DIZZY UP THE GIRL.
Tuesday, March 28th, "Broadway" will officially be released to radio, while on the previous day, Monday, March 27th the video clip for the song makes it's television debut during MTV's hit show "TRL" hosted by Carson Daly. The clip, with a treatment written by comedian Bobcat Goldthwait, is a parody on the rock star mystique. Ordinary factory workers punch in their time clocks and join the make-over assembly line that transforms them into glamorous rock stars. This star imagery machine proves that rock stars are really just old balding fat men and women in really good makeup. The video was directed by Nancy Bardawil who also helmed videos for the group's last four hit singles, "Iris," "Slide," "Dizzy," and "Black Balloon."
The Goo Goo Dolls plan several appearances from New York and Los Angeles in the coming weeks. On Monday, March 27 they will pre-tape a performance of "Broadway" for the Oxygen Network's teen show "Trackers" which will air in the next few weeks.
On Tuesday, March 28, the band will perform "Broadway" live from New York's "great white way" when they visit Carson Daly at MTV's "TRL" show. On Thursday, March 30 the band will visit VH-1"s "The Daily One" show at 2PM and that evening, they will perform at a New York club for a winners-only show for radio station WPLJ.
