As soon as I heard about the concert I made plans to
go I live in Southern Il. so I had a 14 hr. drive so
we (My Sister,Janet and her son Chris 15) left on
Thursday night we got to Houston Friday around noon.
We stayed in the hotel that night and I was so
excited I couldn't sleep even though I did all the
driving there and back.
So I did manage a few hrs.of sleep the traffic made
us late we arrived at the festival around noon we
missed Edwin McCain and cought part of the Virtical
Horizon we first ate then Chris and I decided to try
to get in the front for the Goos performance. We
were about 12 rows back but after Dido and Smash
Mouth we were in about the 5th row. Smash Mouth was
encouraging a lot of body surfing and jumping around
and people were pushing so, as bad as I wanted to see
the Goos I had to get out of the mosh pit (I'm too
old for that kinda stuff, I am the same age as Robby)
This was my first Goo show so I was really upset that
the crowd was so rowdy. So I handed my camera to
Chris and told him to get lots of pix for me (they
are not developed yet but I will put them up as soon
as I get them) I went to the side of the stage away
from the crowd and stood there. I could see John
pretty good cause he came over to that side of the
stage alot and I could see Robby a few times I
couldnt see Mike at all :o( they looked and sounded
great!!! At one point someone threw a wig on stage
and John put it on it was so funny he was banging his
head until it fell off. The wig was blond spiked like
it looked like his hair when he was younger.
They played Dizzy, January Friend, Name, Iris, Hate
This Place, Another Second Time Around, Lazy Eye,
Impersonality, Slide, Black Balloon, Broadway,
Burning Up, Flat Top, and more that I cant think of
right now, but Robby sang a lot more songs than I
expected he sounded great as did John even though I
didnt have the best seats in the place I had a great
time and they were awesome I will go see them again
but general admission is for the birds next time go,
I will see a show with assigned seats.
