The following Site Index is a reflection of each individual page in the Petunia-Daisy Frisbee/Assistance Dog Web Site.
Petunia-Daisy is an ACTIVE 2 year old border collie. She was born April 3, 1995 to Christa Belle and Bandit (22k) in Westminster Maryland and given the name of Petey by her breeder family because she looked like Petey from the Little Rascals. Her new owners decided to use the phonetic sound of her birth name as her nickname and use the letters PD, short for what she is now known by as Petunia-Daisy. (Sometimes we even add trouble to her name) [ Image: Petunia-Daisy ]
Petunia-Daisy LOVES frisbee (25k). She expressed an interest in frisbees at about 2 months of age when she received her first soft Flippy Flyer. These discs are great for puppies because they are not hard. Made from nylon and rope, a puppy learns that the frisbee game can be fun without getting hurt and no tender puppy teeth get knocked out. She began using Fastback Frisbees at the age of 8 months and immediately demonstrated her love of flipping for the frisbee.
This is Petunia Daisy with one of her favorite frisbees, relaxing in the shade.

This is Petunia Daisy showing off during a break at the Bowie Maryland Alpo Competition 4/21/97.
She's jumping straight up in the air from a prone position and is just starting to grab the frisbee.

Here's Petunia Daisy performing one of her famous flipping catches about 2 feet off the ground.
She's parallel to the ground here with her feet out to the right and her head facing away. She's got
the frisbee upside in her mouth and she's preparing to land.
[ Image: Parallel to the ground ]
A great close-up of a standing catch. Petunia Daisy loves to stand on her hind legs and catch frisbees.
This one didn't require her to jump even though she is standing on her tippy toes.
[ Image: Standing ]
A nice over the back, mid-air catch. She seems to be doing a backward sommersalt for the frisbee.
[ Image: Over the Back ]
Another soaring catch, this time about 3 feet off the ground. Look at her tail like a sail
in the wind. As she soars in a perpindicular jump to the ground, the hair on her tail is so long
it flows behind her.
[ Image: Soaring ]
A running, jumping catch. Once again, look at the tail ... the hair must be at least 10 inches long.

Petunia-Daisy taking a nap. Why do puppies love to sleep on their bellies and their backs?
[ Image: Petunia sleeping on her belly ]

Playing with her preschooler toys. One day she got bored with her dog toys and picked up the kids' toys.
Here she is carrying around some sort of Mickey Mouse Driving console with a steering wheel.
[ Image: Playing with pre-school toys ]
Here she is on her favorite chair surrounded by almost all of her toys. She actually carried around that
bone which is the same size as her.
[ Image: Sitting in a chair with all of her toys ]
This is the first day Petunia Daisy came home with us. She insisted on riding home in the back of that
toy dump truck.

This is Petunia-Daisy (middle) with her mother Christa-Belle (top) and her father Bandit (bottom).
Christa-Belle's face is completely white and she has a moderate amount of black on her back. She also
has short hair. Bandit on the other hand is a classic looking Border Collie, with the two black patches
over the eyes that stretch back over his neck and connect with the large amount of black on the rest of
his body and long hair all over. Petunia-Daisy has a black patch over her left eye and is completely white
except for a black patch on her butt about the size of your hand. She has short hair on her head and back
but long hair like her father underneath and on her tail. She is what they call a split-face.
[ Image: Christa-Belle, Petunia, and Bandit ]
Petunia-Daisy and her big brother Lewie who is a regular Collie. Here they are both reclining in
their favorite chair. Lewie looks almost exactly like Lassie with the classic black frame around his
face and a white chest, covered mostly with a sable-brown colored hair.
[ Image: Petunia and Lewie ]
Got him down for the count! When Petunia was a puppy she loved to wrestle Lewie to the
floor. At the time, he was nearly 5 times her size but she got hime down every time.

Trying out for the new Blues Brothers. All these two need a sunglasses. The posed like they
had a higher purpose in mind like the blues brothers.
[ Image: Petunia and Lewie, Blues Brothers ]
Here's Lewie taking over one of the neighbor's kid's electric car. He's standing half in and
half out of the big plastic battery powered Jeep.

Petunia loves watching baseball. Here, she's chewing out one of the Umpires for making a
'bad' call. I don't know, I think he was out. Whenever baseball comes on television, Petunia
knows. Here she's barking and jumping up and down in front of the TV.

Sorry, under construction ...
Site Index || Graphic Version of Vacation PagePetunia-Daisy is a natural Assistance Dog. She helps her owner (Mom) who uses a wheelchair.
Petunia-Daisy started helping her Mom when she was about 8 months old but was pretend helping
by retrieving toys at only 4 months. She is so attentive that when she hears something fall the
next noise is that of her scurrying little footsteps towards the fallen object.

Petunia-Daisy playing in her First Step Pool with a blue frisbee. Kind of hard to
see the frisbee. She also likes to play in the sprinkler.

Some of Petunia-Daisy's favorite music is Jimmie's Chicken Shack. Petunia's Mom actually went to High School with Jimmie and see's him every once in awhile.
This past weekend (June 20), Petunia caught Jimmie's Chicken Shack on the ESPN X-Games Theme Trax Competition. Bands come up with a theme for the X-Games and a vote is taken. Petunia recorded the Video. We digitized it and put it up here in AVI format 20 frames per second at 4.5 Megabytes. It's about 30 seconds long

Petunia has also taken some images from the video. These were sampled on average about every 2 seconds. Here they are in order:

ORCHID AWARD I
have seen many definitions of what other people consider Excellence to be.
Some definitions are very specific while others are nothing more than requiring
that the page is readable. From these various definitions, I have culled out what I
feel is a reasonable guideline. I suppose the primary
guideline for the award is that the "Orchid Committee" (myself and my webmaster)
likes the site. By following these
guidelines you should qualify for the award but there is no guarantee.

FAM AWARD
The Fam Award is presented to outstanding family category web sites
that foster the well-being of children and/or the promotion of traditional
family values. The web site is judged for content and/or design appeal.

I have attempted to use things called Access Keys in regards to links where appropriate. You will find that the Access Key for a particular link will be BOLD and UNDERLINED. In most cases I have also made the Access Key same as the first character of the link where possible. Below are some examples:
Frisbee Pics || FamIly Pics
I've found that currently, browsers DO NOT take advantage of this feature. I am not sure what the future plans of Netscape and IE include however.
One saving grace is that the TAB KEY in both Netscape 4.X and IE 3.X WILL move the selection sequentially from one link to another as they are written into the page. Simply use the TAB key to move forward through the links and use SHIFT-TAB combination to move backwards.
Authors and readers, please consider the following links to resources for making your pages more accessible. It is also the responsibility of the readers to become more aware of what the new features are so that they may be able to take adavantage of them and prod the authors to USE THEM!
