Nickname/s? Sometimes Hey Red, or Nance, usually by people that don't know me yet, or not very well.

Favorite words or expressions? Come on, let's go! Hummmmm.....chocolate.....

Hometownship? Northampton.

Occupations? Currently employed as a Travel Agent, and part-time ski instructor, Certified as a Social Studies Teacher, formerly known as a substitute teacher, caterer, train hostess, camp couselor and cheerleading coach (no joke)...

Current residence? Holderness, New Hampshire on Squam Lake (the "On Golden Pond" lake)

Dream job? Traveling educator....no textbooks, just passports.

Dream place to live? In my own cabin with my own family, in the mountains - any mountains.

Croutons or bacon bits? Neither, I don't like crunchies in my salad or nuts in my ice-cream.

Favorite salad dressing? Ken's Ceasar or Greek

Have you ever gone skinny-dipping? Yes, prefer lakes to pools.

Do you make fun of people? It's so easy in Northern New England...ehh up.

Favorite colors? Sunset pink and orange

Have you ever been convicted of a crime? Accused, never convicted. (serving underage drinkers at Blossom)

Favorite singers/bands? Bare Naked Ladies, Michelle Shocked, Bonnie Raitt, ABBA, Buddy Guy, Patsy Cline, Blue's Traveler....and the beat goes on....

Hobbies? Spending time with my boyfriend - skiing, traveling, gardening and cooking slow food.

Favorite town to chill in? North Woodstock, NH - off season

Favorite food? Italian, in Boston's North End.

Favorite perfume/cologne? Quirky about perfumey smells, can't tolerate them.

Favorite subjects at school? Social Studies - Now I know it's true - You really have to be a coach to be a social studies teacher, ie Kowal, Toth....

Least favorite subject at school? English, I agree with Jeff Jones - the subject had potential, the teachers ......were disappointing.

Favorite sport to watch? The Browns!!!

Humiliating moment? Getting a "D" in Gym, hummmm....Ms. Holman?

A cause you care about? Volunteerism (YES) Youth Enrichment Services- organization that takes groups of kids from Boston on weekend trips, skiing, camping etc....I have more time to give than money.

A perfect Saturday...? A good breakfast with friends/family, and a cool sunny ski day in the White Mountains.

Craziest idea or silliest thing? Thinking teaching would be a cake-walk profession, molding young minds, good hours, summers off....huh!! Forgot to consider - out of touch administrators, local politics - the "who you know" world....cover your own _ _ _ colleagues...! The students were great, slightly apathetic but weren't we all.

Do you get along with your parents? Yes, although I told them they should have waited to move to Tennessee until after Thanksgiving.

What do you look for in the opposite sex? Compassion, humor, adventure....

Quirky things about you? I like personal email but hate the group joke/warning/forward from God knows who stuff. So, I'm trying to make this personal - in a mass mailing kinda way.

People would be surprised to know that? In 1994, I spent 3 months in Amsterdam and 3 months in Zimbabwe, conducting an independant research project.

Before you die, you'd like to? Have a baby, live in that cabin mentioned earlier, and travel to the many places still on my list.

Something great that happened to you? I went to Scotland with my Grandma Dorrans when she was 92, to visit our relatives.

Something sad that happened to you? Many of my friends live too far away.

Heroes / role models? My folks, and Grandma Dorrans
