Vintage and timeless, Cadillac Ranch is now over 20 years old. Ten cadillacs headed west are buried hood-down in a row, their tail-fins silhouetted against the Panhandle sky: "The Hood Ornament of Route 66," as one of it's creators dubbed it. Cadillac Ranch became a national symbol practically from the moment of it's birth in a Texas wheat field in June of 1974.
Discovery is a hands-on experience at the Don Harrington Discovery Center. For two decades the discovery center has brought the excitement of science to the Texas Panhandle, through static and visiting exhibits, planetarium shows, special events, educational/out reach programs and children's science workshops.
The Old San Jacinto area, located on 6th street, along historic Route 66 is fast becoming a premier antique and entertainment center of the Southwest. Dozens of delightful shops offer both trinkets and treasures, many dating from the turn of the century.
