EVA UNIT-01
Evagelion Unit 01 is the test type (I think that indicates that it is the first combat ready
Eva, but I'm not sure) for the Eva project. Its pilot is Shinji Ikari, son of designer
Gendo Ikari. Of all the Evangelions, 01 appears to be the most successful in terms of
combat effectiveness, most likely due to Shinji's extrmely high synronization rate. In
addition, it seems to have the greatest tendency to go berserk. (I think I know
why, but that would ruin everyones fun now, wouldn't it.)
