Gendo Ikari
Commander Ikari is the head honcho at Nerv and the father of the Evangelion. He's
also the father of Shinji, but they have no real attachment to speak of. However, he
does have a relationship with Rei, who seems to view him as something of a love
interest (he shares no such feelings). His activities at Nerv are fairly secretive through
out the series, often we only catch bits of conversations with no context. It is clear that
he as an agenda which the Evangelions and their pilots are only a mere tool in.
